Some Kits have come a long way.
Velo Rossa Spyder
Italian for "Fast Red" Spyder
Total production of Ferrari's original (1962) GTO was only 39 cars, rendering the few surviving units today worth their weight in gold... almost literally! One sold in the early 1990s in Japan for over $16 million... a record price. If you admire GTO styling but appreciate everyday driveability and top-down motoring, this VR Spyder is a must-see sports machine. Based upon the durable and reliable 240, 260 or 280Z, this high-quality conversion kit ($3900) consists of only 12 fiberglass pieces; you can complete the entire conversion process in only a few weekends. Velo Rossa can supply all the supplemental items you may need to complete your conversion; alternately, the firm can also provide you with a professionally-built turnkey car (with a rust-free Arizona Z-machine donor car). ahhh another mad max fan ! ..... Mantis ... that photo in your post is a Ford Falcon Van with the body kit fitted that created the basis of the awsome "last V8" interceptor for the mad max film ... one of my fav films and cars of all time
Body kits can look good but some are very over the top and spoil the look of the car completly many of the kits I have seen for the 1st gen RX7 are totally wrong for the car IMO

I have never seen a body kit I have liked for RX-7. They look great all by themselves so I won't muck with the looks at all. Most kits just make most cars uglier.

i'm not really enthusiastic about any of the kits but mariah's kits look much less old and cheezy. the widebody kits are kinda cool (sans the front)...

So basically, most people are telling me to stick with my origional body style rather than changing it which is a great idea. I just have to ask whether anyone thinks adding a rear allumunim spoiler would look good. Pictures would be great!!!!

Is the stock IMSA spoiler 3 piece or 1 piece?
I have a 1 piece with some cracks... I gotta figure out how to mount it It has two screws near the front tips, but nothing else.

Raising this from the dead..... Why yes... yes it is....
An ex co-worker of mine (retired now) and I struck up a conversation after he found out I loved RX-7's. I've come to find out that he used to work on the Mazda IMSA GTU crew when the Akai RX-7 was running the 24 & 12 hour endurance races back in the 80's. I picked his brain as much as possible and he also told me that he was storing a car for a friend. "Wilma" 1 of 3 1979 Akai RX-7's built for the Daytona 24 hour race! I was so excited! I went over to his place earlier today and took some pictures and picked his brain some more.
I wanted to share. I'm going to spend some more time there and take some suspension geometry readings to be able to recreate what I can on my track car. Even though it had been sitting for a while, it was BEAUTIFUL! He's been storing it for a while, so I want to see if I can get me hands on it from the owner. It would be a great car to take to the Walter Mitty. I'll take some more pictures later and post more. Hope you Enjoy.
