13b -> 79' 12a?

Yeah, so here's the deal.

It turns out that I'll be driving this '79, so I really want to make it mine. I want to make it the ultimate sleeper (NO V8s please! ).

I don't know much about cars, as sad as it is. I'm really trying to learn, so I'm here to ask questions.

Now, what is involved with swapping a 13b into a 12a? I know they mount differently, but that's not much of a problem, is it? I saw the mounting brackets.

So, what kind of 13b can I dump into my 79? Are there any restrictions? What if I want it turbo?

I was under the impression that after I buy a new engine, I'd need to get an accomodating transmission, and new exhaust? Si?

How much do you think, throwing the best 13b I could into the 79, with all necessary parts (trans,exhas), would run me?

Please teach me, I have lots to learn

Might want to investigate the Turbo II threads... with the exception of the 13B from the 84-85 GSL-SE, the mounts moved substantially.

just get a racing beat mounting plate, use a 12a frontcover, and use a GSL-SE oil pan and It will drop right in.
