Looking for new Boots for the SA. beloved Summitomos disappeared, what? 8 yr ago? Now Vredesteins (current mounts) look to be NLA in 13/205s as well.
So:
Dunlop sports; $400+ for a pair! - $500+ with ship and tax FOR TWO (all I need) ? (Coker) yike!!
BFGoodrich: Around forever, but unknown to me?
Tornel: Just heard of. Mexican, by way of new India owners. (make tires since 1930s. But...?)
MRF: India. 6th largest tire manuf, but, unknown quantity.

$159 per tire for BF Goodrich isn’t horrible. And it is a RWL tire.

The BFG's are 205's Stu. If you don't like the Red / Gold / RWL, you can always turn them to the inside.

If you wouldn't drink the water in those countries, don't buy their tires.

I dont run 205s but finding my 185/60s is becoming impossible. imo 13s look best on these cars but, availability and consistency of tire durability is making me lean towards going with 15s.
looks like you have more reputable brands making tire size tho! hopefully they keep pumping them out!

I had the BFGs years ago and really liked them. Granted they were on my 626, but still nice.

I imagine they are even better today, maybe not the latest and greatest, but nice for our 7s. I wish that I could rationalize buying them today, but my tires are only 5 years old.

Performance be damned, the BFGs are the most period correct.

I think that 15” wheels look perfect on an SA/FB. I had 225/45-15 on my car.

I think it would look sporty with RWL's, but that's me. I don't tend to stand around and stare directly into the sun either. I do like the car however.

I would go with the BF Goodrich tires, even if they are only available in 185/70/R13. Just a better tire than the Chinese knocks off's. I went with Kuhmo Solus tires on my 85. I installed them last year and they seem to be just fine in terms of ride and handling.

Thanks Dave -
Am hoping the BFGs are avai in 205s since that is what I have on the front (Vredesteins) and am only doing 2 rims. I try to bracket my tire replacements so I only need to pay out for a pair at a time. Ironically, with manufacturers all over the place with stock, when I need a matched pair they are not always avai.
;P
