12at + msd sci. box = help......

its a 85 gs stock 12a, with a s4 turbo, locked dizzy and a holley 600.

i had the dlidfis on the car befor but removed it when installing the turbo set up, so with the stock ign. i time it at 10-0 and it runs good but when i hook up the msd box the timming is way off and i need to turn the dizzy 1 tooth to set it at 10. thats ok but then the closest i can get the timing split is about 25 deg. and that is the problem.

the msd set up is a sci box using the purple and green wires with a sheilded cable to a gutted igniter. its got 2 stock coils for the direct fire.

so what can i do to fix this timming? or if its not going to work with this box ill just go back to the dlidfs set up..... but i would like to have the msd working.

thanks for eney help.

and ill get some pics up in a bit.

if the timing changes with and without the MSD, something is backwards.

Are you using the MSD to trigger the leading and the trailing, or what? I am running a MSD 6A on the leading with a second gen leading coil. No issues.

I run the mazdaspeed wiring diagram for my msd, timing didn't change at all. You have something drastically wrong. Did you boost prep your holley and run a rrfpr.

Read one of your old posts where you changed the exhaust. Nice looking setup.

purple and green would do it, um if the wires were crossed in the gutted ignitor that would do it.
