Did you setup a weightlifting bench and bench it a few times? Im sorry haha but my 12a even without the flywheel can be lifted by one person but not for very long... But with most the goodies on one person probally won't be able to carry it... my guess is about 150lbs but akward wieght...

It's the way it's balanced (the weight) that makes it seem so hard to lift.

Should be around 170-190lbs in bare shortblock form. Thats my guess. I remember someone saying a shortblock 13B was around ~180-200lbs.

12-a short block shipping weight was 200 pounds from Atkins, this included the fly wheel. It seemed heavier than 200 though. I used a pulley and a come along getting it up and down a flight of stairs, Issiac Newton would be impressed!

100kgs depending on what year - some used different weight flywheels. They're around 130kgs in long block.

Depends on what is still on it, How short? is the short block.

With the Flywheel and nothing else two guys can pick it up. without the flywheel, one strong guy can move it.

I would say 150 ish with the flywheel and nothing else.

I carried my shortblock 12a with flywheel and I am not that strong so 150-180#s is my guess.

Yeah, I agree with many people here, about 170 lbs, also depends.... UPS wouldn't ship mine since it was for sure over 150 lbs. Me and my friend lift it out of my engine bay with two piece of 2 by 4, that was with most of the stuff on the block.

two 2 by 4's ??? wow!!! now that is what I call a cheap mechanic!!! but how did you install the motor????. It took an engine lift and two people to install mine. Luckily a fellow motor head was passing by just as I started lowering the motor into the engine bay.

I thought about building a gantry from lumber, and moving the car out from under it after I lifted the motor out.

Meh, I lifted the shortblock out of my car and carried it to the garage. with clutch and flywheel. They're not that heavy.

Feds, so you want us to believe (or you make a joke?), that you bent over and lifted the 200 pound engine out of the engine bay and stolled over to the garage with it? That's like the TV show "6 million dollar man" ( guy with the bionic arm and leg) feats of strength without concern for static equilibrium (or the study of why things don't fall).

So no regard for Sigma F(x)=0 Sigma F(y)=0 Sigma FZ=0, and Moments=0 huh??
