Um, the 12A will get you better gas mileage if that's what you mean, just because it's a smaller engine. I don't know if there are measurable differences in the BSFC curves between the two, and it would be hard to do a proper comparison.

In terms of power, obviously the 13B wins, again because it's a bigger engine. And yes, the difference in power is very noticeable.

Milage in an FB should be similar. The 13b got worse milage in the 2nd gens because they were heavy. In a lighter first gen it wont have to work as hard, so you'll ultimately go faster, and get better milage than the 2nd gen.

Don't know if it will be better than a properly tuned 12a though. I get 17mpg City and 25hwy and I've tuned the crum out of it! Runs GREAT, just very unhappy with city milage.

Figure a stock 12a is about 100Flywheel horse while a 13b is around 130flywheel horse stock.

12A is more valuable and therefore 'better,' due to rarity and the fact that I have one.

Also, the PROK* demands that I must keep only a 12A in my car, or they'll steal my car & smush it.

I wish we had a law here in GA saying you can't remove 12A's from FB's, save a lot of them from the dreaded boinger conversion.

since the e-shaft is 2cm shorter... do you have less chance of it flexing?
