12A type RE6PI engine air intake

One or two have asked where the air intake feeds from on RE6PI 12a engine. Here's a photo....... which hopefully shows the bellows bit ending to one side of the radiator.

Thanks for putting up the photo. I thought you may have found a unique way to get cold air in. Looks like you are breathing in the air under the bonnet (how's my King's English?).

Hi Mike !

Hi Mike, I'm glad you found this thread, I couldn't find an easy way of popping the image into a PM reply so this way seemed the best.
Me? - breathe into the engine compartment? On some days that would be like pumping pure alcohol into the works! (Kidding !!!).

Nikki?

Hi Carl,

I wish I knew for sure! I'm not all that technical with cars and wish I knew more about the carb etc cos it idles too fast and there's no idle screw on this engine, just a mixture screw. It comes down to about 1200 rpm when it's good and hot but on startup it's about 2200 rpm. The car runs really well but I reckon the fuel consumption is maybe a little high.

I tame mechanic is looking at it today so let's hope he comes up with some answers.

Fingers crossed!
