sorry to revive this thread, but has anybody gon efi, by just using a throttlebody/injector and a piggy back to control them on stock manifold.

only thing i can think of that would cause a issue is how to tune, throughout the rpm range.

look for my GSLSE injection to 12A thread soon, using a RB lower for the 12a sidedraft setup, I simply bolted the SE mani onto it, and welded bungs for the stock SE injectors to the RB LIM. All of the GSLSE support equipment bolts right up, like the fuel pump, filters, brackets, AFM, VR, etc. Only thing I had to fab was a port to the preheater which I pulled through the nikkis thermo choke sensor on the water pump housing.

After install it started on the 3rd crank, adjusted AAS and VR, drove away into the sunset. Wicked throttle response, and around 24 mpg combined. Its the best way to go. I also managed to fit the alternator in the stock location despite the large SE UIM.

It hasnt been "tuned" yet though, and honestly I dont know if ill ever bother...

I know a guy who is running a gm tbi setup on the stock intake manifold using gm wiring AND ECU. no piggyback. pretty sure it was a v6 ecu and full engine wiring harness.
