The original 12at used EFI with a high pressure fuel system along the lines of the later 13bt.

If you want to add an aftermarket turbo to a 12a, then you need to specify what power output is your target and find a fuel pump which will provide the required flow flow. Certainly the stock fuel pump will be insufficient leading to major problms.

Well I might have a 1st gen with a good 12a in it lined up... I will have to pull the motor apart and see if the rotor housings are good... most 12a housings are not... I would run a street port on it... I was just looking at a turbo 12a pic on the net and I couldn’t figure out what kind of fuel system it has on it... I am thinking it might be a good idea just to pull the fuel setup off a 13b and make a adapter plate to run on the 12a... since I REALLY want to run FI... can you mess with the fuel maps on a stock rx7 ECU with the right software??? I figure the stock na fuel system should allow me to run 12 psi? with a fuel pressure reg and a fi fuel pump??? For right now I would probably pull a T03 off a thunderbird... I know the 12a has good power potential and I like the **** talking privileges of telling people I have a turbo 1.1 in my car opposed to a 13b... I will have too see what kind of cash flow I am going to be able to get my hands on for my next project... the biggest thing is the fuel system... I should be able to get my hands on about 2k later this spring but I wonder how far I can get on a 12a project right now… I have a good donor car to do the build on I took the 12a out of that the housings were toast… body is pretty straight… has a open diff and rear drum brakes though… I have a lot of parts for trade so I will see where I am about a month from now… I love doing budget builds... I have a 13b powered street ported 1st gen right now that only cost me a little over $1200...

why **** on a Honda there are good cars. I often drive a CRX vtec, compared with stock gen 1s and 2s they are fast, handle better and use far less fuel while spares are cheap. They have a 160hp output and lighter weight. I still prefer the Gen 1 shape but in practical terms its less reliable and mechanics with rotary experience are getting fewer and fewer.

Lets be honest the 13b is a better engine and in another 3-5 years 12a parts will be unobtainable. Going blow through on a 12a does not really impress any more when there are so many imported 13bt and 13b REW engines around for decent power. If you want something with more status get a 12at rebuild it with upgraded efi and turbo. Its a matter of choice if you go for a intercooler, certainly thats out on a 12a.

Why **** on Hondas??? There slow... there fwd cars... there expensive to buy and expensive to mod... People also think there gods gift to racing while in reality there one of the least modifiable makes of cars out there as far as drag racing goes… There popularity will ultimately kill them... demand drives price… it costs almost 2 times more for a b18c5 as it does for a 13b TT and the 13b is capable of putting down WAY more power... The 1st Gen 7's ARE slugs stock... but they are a GREAT base for a build... be it a V8 V6 I6 or 13b swap... there cheap there relatively light and they have a solid rear axle and have a large engine bay... The 12a's are capable of putting down EXELANT numbers when there turbo and can hold A LOT of boost... not to mention the sleeper factor… Most people who are into imports isn’t going to think your going to pull ANY power out of a 12a that goes the same for the rx7 guys… Unless its 13b they don’t think you can put down any power… I would put a 12a ANYDAY up against ANY 4 cyl Honda motor for power output and build price... I rather build a 12a because you can get parts REALLY CHEAP FOR THEM compared to the 13b’s… I am just trying to figure out a fuel system for a turbo motor...

I suggest you read Moremazda's thread on how he added a turbo to a 12a. Its a great write-up and contains the part numbers and prices of the fuel system he used.

I agree a CRX will never become a drag racer, a 10 second 1/4 time is about its limit. But as a practical road car the stock1.6vtec is great. Have you tried the NSX, its a real mover and the secondhand prices are reasonable unfortunately spares are bank loan territory!

You know, some people **** on toilets and some people **** on hondas. But it's all just a matter of personal preference. I **** on small dogs.

Hondas do have that pissable shape, much like small dogs.

Okay I need to stop. I don't know where this is going. I hate myself.

HONDAS SUCK ***. AND THE PEOPLE THAT DRIVE THEM. I not only **** on hondas, but Chevys too. Anyway back to the thread subject. The fuel system I'm putting in my 12at is a modified Nikki (stock) carb, Mallory fuel regulator, and a higher PSI fuel pump (around 20PSI) I believe you can use a fuel pump off a turbo Volvo, or a 280ZX. They are like 50 bucks at the junk yard...

Anyone ever see a thread on a efi turbo 12a setup??? I want to run efi because I want to be able to change boost levels quick... I also want to run around 18 lbs of boost... OR TRY TOO I have a holly and deloro setup... I know you have to modify the holly to run boost... I am pretty shure you have to do the same on the deloro... I might have a line on a set of webbers for a 12a with intake... down draft setup... would I have to modify those??? Hell if I could run a carb AND NOT BLOW IT UP with all the stuff I already have I might do a 1/2 bridge and only drive it on the weekends...
