12A Turbo for first gen RX-7
I've been searching for several weeks and cant find any info on turbo setups for first gen 12A's. Does anyone have any info for a turbo kit for carbed engines
Like to say welcome to the forum, guessing when you say you have been searching, you havent been searching the forum. Top right corner says search. There is an abundance of 12a turbo info here.
I have just protected him from flaming, you guys be nice.

Perhaps try searching for "Draw Thru turbo" rather than just 12a turbos. Also, thanks to searching I found this: https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-archive-71/engine-how-build-high-output-12a-turbo-without-blowing-up-your-motor-380353/
FB II posted it, so it should be a great thread.

not to start an argument about draw-thru vs. blow-thru but i think you'd be better off with a blow-thru setup. oh and just so you know, theres no such thing as a bolt-on turbo kit for a 12a. Just making sure you knew that its gonna be a custom job.
welcome to the forum and good luck with your project (should you decide to do it)

Yea,there havent been bolt on turbo kits made for our cars for nearly 15-20 years.
Being carbed and older,1st gens arent high on the totem pole for modern aftermarket performance companies. They do still exist in used form, but they only pop up for sale from time to time, and they are often basket cases or home-made which can lead to tuning issues.
Its not too hard to home-make a turbo kit,but it does require welding skill, and general to moderate understanding of how forced induction affects engine operation....especially when your carbed.

Keep in mind you can do it cheaper and simpler, each job is custom, this is just a good example.
