Mazdatrix sells the most complete rebuild kit for our cars I think all you will still need is the front and rear main seals (and any upgraded parts you want ie. porting, non-stock apex seals etc.)

Also revolution rotary , racing beat and a few others carry rebuild kits but they are not as complete

peace

WEll I went wit mazdatrix for my last rebuild, probably gonna go with them for the next rebuild. I would say that you should have at least $1k dollars just for this. This should about cover you for the most part. But pull your engine apart and really check everything out before you buy a thing, that way you'll know exactly what you're gonna need. I know that at the local junkyards I can get a short block for $50, you might need some parts (rotors, e-shaft, housings) and if you do need this stuff it's really expensive new.

SO crack that puppy open and see whats going on inside.

Also check out atkins rotary, they sell stuff on ebay, I saw they had a complete set of 2piece apex seals for a pretty good price.

And one more thing, while you got the engine open, if you want any more HP you might wanna think about buying a porting template and porting it out while you got the engine apart.

SO it all depends on how much $$$ you got and much HP you want. If your just going stock rebuild, then you might even want to see what some shops charge for one, I know that Kevin @ rotary ressurection has a fair price.... and a lot of people seem happy with his work.

Well... I guess that is it for this spiel

'85 SE with a 12A????

anyway, i would definitely open the engine before buying anything yet. if you overheated your engine, then chances are you have warped and burned (look for large patches of missing chrome) the rotor housings. you may have also damaged the sealing surface of the side housings. also, any chance of re-using some of the seals on the rotor itself have probably flown out the window now.

open the engine and see what you need in terms of parts, then see what kind of money you need to budget for. are you planning on doing this rebuild yourself?
