Question 12A frontplate on a 13B block for swap?

I'm going to be putting a 89-91 13B into a 12A equipped 84GSL over the summer ... I was wondering if I can use the frontplate of the 12A on the 13B to use the mounting points on the RacingBeat front engine mount kit, or does it have to be a GSL-SE 13B frontplate?
Also does anybody have recomendations for an aftermarket oilpan for the 13B after the swap, or should I stick with the stock GSL-SE pan?

Yep, just use the 12A front cover and SE sump.

12A front cover will work fine, and indeed, a GSL-SE sump. Together with a RB engine mount brace, the engine should be a drop in. The wiring, of course...

by oil sump they mean the oil pan from a 13b GSL-SE.

The 1st gen 13b and 2nd gen 13b oil pans are very different in their shape. the way the engine mounts on the 1st gen requires the specific oil pan or oil "sump".

SE Oil Pan. The Oil Sump Pick up could be a 12A one.

what about the oil metering pump? thw 12A fromt plate's has 2 lines and the 13B (except for the 13B-REW) has 4 oil lines. the pump it's self is not swappable from a 12a to a 13b. So unless you are putting in a 13B-REW or going to run premix in the tank, the 12A cover may not be for you.

The 12A or SE oil pickup will work fine.

Sounds good, thanks for the input ... That 12A frontcover will save some $$$ Now the only headache will be getting the wiring and injection up and running when the time comes. lol

dont forget your going to have to drill and tap some holes on that front cover so you can mount the 89 electric OMP.

The computer will go into "limp mode" if it isnt there.

now that would be a GREAT idea.

I hate how you have to grind a little of the FB front cover down to get a FC water pump housing on there. It fits fine and all, but it just really makes nervous about the front cover cracking or something.
