gas tank differences

I got an 84 GSL and the tank is in bad shape. It's gotten to the point where the rust is causing fuel starvation from a clogged filter and it's pissing me off. I changed the filter, obviously, but that will only help for maybe, 6 months or 8000miles or so... It's getting worse, and I'm concerned that it'll mess up the pump and carb if the filter doesn't keep everything out.
Anyway, I know the SA tanks are non seperatable, but are the later model tanks? I'd like to take it apart and clean it out if possible. I'm too drop it and check thoroughly.
Also, where is a good place to get a new mazda tank, or suitable replacement?
