Draw through setups are strange.

How do they maintain boost at the "T junction"

That is to say, what keeps the air from shooting up through the carb?

Let's see you get a stock manifold with a stock carb, a crappy air filter, and the bae spacer with a couple of tubes...not even worth the current bid of $61 if you ask me.

Under Pressure

All that’s missing is the exhaust manifold. Well **** that’s the key, that’s were the Turbo mounts to you also need a wastegate it mounts to the exhaust manifold.

What keeps the mix from blowing up through the carb is the fuel is sent from the carb into the carb box which has two separate chambers. Down goes the fuel through the box in to the pipe into the turbo spun through the turbo and pressurized back into the other chamber of the carb box and into the intake manifold

That ones rusty here’s a shiny one.

Only if you know how to tune and fabricate an exhaust manifold, etc.

Wouldn't that kill your power by pushing the fuel through a VERY hot area like the turbo?

Sorry, I'm considering it though. Using it with my Sterling carb, getting a T04 off of Alex, and then making my piping at the shop with Alex and Dave.

My FB is always a clusterfuck of stuff.

no you cant use an intercooler, its low boost only, 12 would be pushing it. i havent seen the BAE system in person, but seeing the pics, im glad i got the cartech kit instead. that thing there sits really high.

without the exhaust manifold and/or turbo, it isnt worth much at all

To anyone considering buying this in order to piece together their own custom kit:

Stop being stupid.

And if you wish to defy my advice...I have a BAE exhaust manifold I'd like to sell you. Bolts straight onto a 12A, needs a t4 flanged turbo and wastegate. $250

Much better off with a blow through setup than that unit.

Cool It!

The only reason it’s not recommended to run higher boost then 5lbs is because of detonation.
If the charge could be cooled with an intercooler that would solve the problem, but you can’t. Water/methanol injection would work and would’ lower the temputure of the charge so detonation would not accure.
What’s the difference if its is draw through or blow through when it reaches the intake manifold?
Both are delivering a pressurized mix of fuel at the same pressure the question is now which is an easier and/or more available install blow through.
But draw through will do the job don’t kid yourself read all you want until you have driven one you don’t know the quickness the turbo can deliver I have in years past from a dead start, dumping the clutch and sheared bolts off the rear wheels.

well, i decided to buy that kit, thought it would be a fun little project. and the carb is stock, but it comes with the bae adapter plate, bae piping, and bae intake manifold which is different than the stock because it sits lower because there would be a clearance problem if it wasn't lower.

you can run more than 5psi... i fuggin ran 16psi with no intercooler and no detonation. just make sure your tune is on the conservative side.

you have to realize that carbs cool intake temps alot more than fuel injected setups

i'm not saying run 16psi, but don't be afraid to kick out around 8 - 10lbs of boost ohhhhhh yea!

draw thru does suck tho, won't make nearly as much power as it should.

yeah, i was planning to run right around 10 psi with this set up. i also bought his holley fuel pump and regulator from him. And i'm in the works of acuring the exhaust manifold.
