12A for Christmas

I'm planning on getting a mild streetport 12A for christmas. YAY . I'm thinking of getting new spark plugs, fuel filter, professionally clean the gas tank, and New gaskets for everything. I have probably 500 bucks(hopefully) left over after the rebuild. I'm thinking of maybe my bud and I to do some of the install if its pretty easy so I can save money. Anything else I need? Thanks in advance guys/gals.

God bless.

Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow. Have fun with the family.

All I want for christmas is a rebuilt 12a.

You'll need a carb to flow more fuel/air. And depending upon your exhaust setup, you need to remove the cats and all the other restrictive emissions to see any gains from the port work. A port with emissions sees no real results.

Oh, ok. Anybody else got to add anything to what normality glitch says. If i don't gain that much power from the porting i'll just rebuild the engine by myself maybe. I want to rebuild the engine , but i don't want to port it. It would be my first time too. Then i could save a lot of money for other things. Maybe i'll do that as one of my homeschool projects this winter.

go w/ a nice mikuni 44. since you're going to daily drive it, it should be more than enough fun for you. but if you want the good stuff power, then a 48 IDA is in need.

and thanks, i had a good thanksgiving w/ family and friends! hope ya'll did too

That would be cool, I'll see. Maybe not, you know. Then we would have to do custom work though I think. Stay on the subject ******** . Jk.
