Question 12a BANG!

I get this loud *** bang when I shut my car off. What the hell is it and why is being made? Its sorta of cool but its probably not really good for the car.

well up until i saw you had ~1900 posts, i was going to ask where the bang is coming from, and if its just a backfire, but I'm sure you know that. more info?

Check your float levels in your carb. My back float had sunk, and my carb was dumping fuel down my intake when i went to shut the car off.... the fuel got to the exhaust and it ignited, and it sounded like someone was shooting at me..... Made my girlfriends dad hit the deck, and left my ears ringing. Good times... good times.

Mine would always do that too, don't know why. But one time it was much bigger than normal and it blew the seam out of my muffler, completely exploded everything inside the muffler. I never figures out why it did it, but after that it wasn't long before I put the turbo on it, and now it has never done it.

ha
I'll check the float levels as soon as I get my car from the mechanics.

I remember Aaron Cake was making a nice loud *** bangs on command by pulling on the choke, shutting the keys off and gassing.
He thought it was funny.
