If your not looking for a motor right now, you will be within the first few runs on that 125 shot. Rotaries don't particularly take well to nitrous, hence the reason noone really uses it.

uuhh, correct me if i'm wrong but isn't "all motor" just that? no help from such things like superchargers, turbos, or nitrous?

I was going to ask the same thing but since 12akid seemed so sure it would be all motor I thought mabey nitrous on a motor is still considered all motor.

All motor is just that...naturally aspirated with no power adders, period. No juice, no turbo and no supercharger. Go easy on nitrous if the motor hasn't been built for it...75 shot tops and it better be wet, no dry Zex systems.

From what I've read and I'm no expert... Nitrous is just another way to force more oxygen into the combustion chamber... whether you do it with forced induction (turbo / supercharger) or do it chemically (Nitrous) it achieves the same added oxygen insertion goal and if the motor isn't setup to handle the extra oxygen & fuel it you will probably damage the motor. No matter what you choose, forcing more oxygen into the motor is not all motor.

Engines come from good engineering departments with anything from 3 to 20X safety factor for reliability's sake. On a really high mileage engine, you're taking a chance just putting on a high flow exhaust. At 100,000 miles or so, a 75 shot should be safe...some guy on this very board runs that 125 shot, but never says if his engine was rebuilt or how long it lasted.

Nitrous adds more oxygen, but you need more fuel to burn that extra oxygen. It also cools the intake charge so you can stuff more oxygen in each sweep of the rotor face past the intake ports. Nice one-two effect. The same basic block was turbo'd in Japan with a factory warranty, so taking the 12A from 105 to 180 HP for a short nitrous burst shouldn't be painful to the engine....the transmission and rear-end? That's a different story altogether if you're running sticky rear tires...

Solid plan, lot of $$$...when you get the nitrous, get it as a kit...you MUST inject fuel with the nitrous with anything more than a 15 HP shot for a 12A with carb. Jetting the carb rich will only take you so far, that is not a plan for adding fuel for nitrous.

I think he meant to say "wet" kit. What you really dont want is a dry kit.

I really think 50 shot on a well built and tuned 12a is safe. I seen a few 12a's w/50 shot, no problem and spoke w/ a few 13b owners at the Pan Ams that run 75+ shot on naturally aspirated motors.

In Puerto Rico they are hitting hard with Nitrous.
