1/4 mile times

I'm curious as to what most of you are running in the quarter mile. Please add what you have done including sticky tires. thanks.

Last time I ran it was 54.2 seconds, which was the fastest in my age group at the Masters Games.

I'm really curious how my car would do with a Mikuni sidedraft carb, Holly fuel pump, and full 2.5" exhaust with RB header? Any clues?

Not bad. What kind of rubber/spike size was that on? And what fuel were you using, carb loading etc?

And to the topic

Man most of us drive these cars on the street for fun.

All this stuff about 1/4 mile times and stuff is crap.

All it does is give Import SPORTS Car enthusiatas a bad reputation.

Remember people "The Fast and The Furious" is just a bad movie.

Ah I fell much better now

BTW Flames can go to:

I care about 1/4 times because the car already handles well.. I am always in search of more power. Right now with the mods I have, I run a 15.0 - 15.1, depends on the day . I want low 11's when I am done my S5 13BT swap. And thats on street tires.. I want 10's on slicks.

No flames I'm not looking to go drag raceing down the street but I would like to know where I stand. After all the factories list quarter mile times on almost every car I ca think of and I don't think knowing that nuber gives anyone a " bad reputation".

lol I agree, when I think about it, a 14 is SO much better than my slow 15, lol. I think my 71 Datsun 510 with an engine swap and a mere 110hp ran in the 18 seconds.. lol.. it was like 0-60 in 10 secs or so.

Exactly what I was going to say!

I'm looking for mid 13's on street tires at 12psi. I don't think I'll have any problem getting that time either. If I turn the boost up to 16psi and run slicks then I should be in the high 12's.

But, I might end up rebuilding my engine this winter, dowel pinning it, and doing a nice big streetport. It really won't make my car any faster at first, but once I go to a bigger turbo it will make the car fly.

I don't want to be a jerk or anything, but if the guy is proud of his 18 sec 1/4 let him be. Just because he hasn't placed down the on a 13B or turbo-ed his 12A, that doesn't make him any less of a 7 owner. I'd be happy with that. Plus it gives eveyone out here with a stock 12A an idea of what they can do, not to mention it'll beat some of those ricer civic owners who dress for the 9's but don't have the go .
