you've had someone watch the float window while you rev it? Does it do it if you just let the car idle?

Still sounds like fuel starvation to me...

it sounds like fuel starvation to me also. When revving the engine, the fuel would kinda get forced in which is why it runs at 4k, but at idle, something has to be restricting the flow. Fuel filter maybe? Old fuel lines?

i had a simmilar problem on my se. it turned out that it was the BAC valve. it's the vlave that opens up to let in more air when the engine is put under load. IE a/c being turned on. mine was bad so it just acted lie a huge vacum leak. so you should go check for leaks see if that helps. also try advancing the timing and pluging the vacum advance up.

So itll idle all day long fine, but dies if you keep it revved? :stupid: Sounds like fuel starvation, weak pump, clogged filter. Pull the supply hose off the carb and see if the fuel pump is outputting good fuel flow to the carb.

definitely fuel related. Also check the accelerator pump that is mounted on your carb. It has a single wire coming off of it.. it faces the driver's side of the car. I forgot to plug mine in when I did the emissions removal, and it did something like what you're having a problem with.

I did?? Sure... Ok. Well, I pluged it in and it worked a million times better.

So where's the accelerator pump then? (need pics)

Talking Ask and Ye shall recieve!

here you go. The little square thing with a lever in the middle of it. Right above the yellow painted screw.

well guys, sorry about the late response to all your awesome replies. my internet has been soooo fugged up. i pay 45 a month for cable modem and it works for one week out of that time. ugh. anyways, i'm about to pull the fuel hose to see if it's pumping decently. it wont hold an idle at all. it cranks, kinda sounds normal for a second and will rev to 4,000 somewhat but i have to have the choke out. if i let the choke in at all it dies for rizzle. haha. i am guessing my fuel pump, but it could be the carb, my neighbor has a flow bench and we rebuilt and tested it on there. it seemed fine until whatever happened to make my car stall and not work right. i'll check the fuel pump and let you guys know. thank you so much for your help. WE GOTTA GET HER GOING! WOO WOOOOOO!
