I think it's a little high there on it. Really nice looking and all but still. I'd pay maybe $1k for it.

Too much money. Its only an FB. Regardless of how clean it is, an FB is a dime a dozen.

Being that you are a newbie and probably would insult someone with a 1k offer

It looks like he is trying to recoup what he spent on the car. It is a clean car but not low mileage with original untouched running gear.

I have an original 82 Gs with 67k with the A/T. You could eat out of the engine bay area.
The only person that would pay enough for me to sell it would be a true Rx7 enthusiast or a collector.

I'm looking down that path at becoming a collector and true enthusiast. Still, I've seen the pictures of yours and yours is mint. That one has a lot of little imperfections and I'm sure has its problems. Maybe he is looking to recoup what he paid... but that rarely ever happens. Especially on a 24 year old car that sold off the showroom floor for a little more than $11k. It may look nice and clean but it is nowhere near having been retouched, refurbished, restored, and returned to like new/mint condition. Then it would be a $7k collectors trailer queen.

If that car is going for $7995.00 with a stock engine i would like to see what he would say mine is worth with a 1/2 bridge with 1000km on it, new gsl-se suspension 15" mags , charcoal interior, 4.44 rear end gears and its getting new paint this winter. lol. must be a $10,000 car then. lol. I'm sorry i'd only give him $1000 its an ontario car and i'm sure he doesn't even know about the rear inner fender well rust that all 1st gens have

Remember the 131k is in kilometres.

So 81,400mi on the clock.

Still though, even in canuck dollars, that's bloody expensive.

4k MAX and that's if it doesn't even have a hint of bin rust. Ontario is a brutal place for cars and rust, and so that's why it would be worth 4k if it was somehow rust free.

It's nice and all, but thats way to exspensive. I would say 3k max if everything mechanical wise is all good.

Just because he scored something you believe to be similar does not mean that the other guys is worth less. I don't know what's wrong what you guys. None of you know what this guys car is worth. Let me let you in on a secret. Nothing is worth anything unless someone is willing to buy it.

That means in most cases there is no true value ratings for our cars. Except if it is what someone has been looking for. Now i do agree that i would not pay 7k for his car. And he is probably trying to justify it by the fact that a new motor has been installed. Which if factory does cost alot of money with installation.

Even my very clean 82 at this point would not warrant 7k. And it is completley original with 67k.
To rag on some guys car about value is useless.
You have to consider alot of things in a value of a car.
1). The paint condition. If it is original and in very good condition compare it to what a similar paint job will cost you now. It's alot of money.
I rather buy a car with excellent paint and body then one with a new motor, clutch, rebuilt trans and other goodies. But that's just me.

I guess that's why there's 0 bids. He'll end up relisting it 5 times before he gets a real bid. What is 7,000 in Canadian pesos anyway?

I'm not ragging on him. I was just sharing with the lot that there are some people wanting to charge rediculous prices for a car. People who don't know what the car is won't buy it and people who do won't pay that.

To him it might not be a ridiculous price because of what he just put into the car.

And people who don't know what the car is would not even be looking at it in the 1st place.
And who says that someone who knows what the car is won't pay?

And like i said in the beginning this is a very useless thread!!!!!

Well Lokirx7.1 and I had thought about making a 12a 4 rotor... smaller rotors, twice the displacement, more spark, more power.... or was it enlarging a 12a to be a 2.2 and bigger... errr... Old school is how it should be done. Everyones done everything so far.

Well if everything has been done why did they come out with the rx8 with the 240Hp N/A
motor?
Anything can be improved on. It can be a idea for a better CAI for a carb'd motor to a better designed replacement dash for the 79-83 models. Now there is something to work on. A replacement dash that looks like the original but does not crack. And no i don't mean one of those piece of crap Dashcaps either.

I just got it. How about a Carbon Fiber replacement dash? You could paint to any color or leave it in the traditional black. The guys are doing sunroofs, hoods, headlamp covers, now lets see a dash. I say we start bugging beef13 or is it 13beef to look at this project

Well you see all of those ideas require fabrication and welding and milling and all sorts of things I don't have the ability to do. I'm sure if I could weld, bend medal, had money, et al I'd be messing with things daily. Truth is I can't do anything other than take parts and swap parts out or "ghetto rig" existing parts I can't afford to replace so they work kinda sorta.

You don't have to actually build them. You can start by having the idea and a general picture of what the end result should be.

I do that sometimes. If something strikes me as a good or new idea I make sure I write it down. Main problem being that I usually just assume someone who can build it is thinking of it or will think of it and build it shortly so there's no point in pushing it.
