$2000 Gsl-se?

Ok, well Im planning on buying a 1984 GSL-SE.

It has 225XXX KM's on the engine, and still runs like a beauty. It has a small oil leak, but nothing major. The body is pretty much mint. A little ding on the drivers door, and a few specs of surface rust, Smaller than a dime. Interior is good, Just missing a shift boot, and a fw things are a little worn. It comes with subs and an amp, and an extra set of tires/rims.

Im just wondering if this is worth it?

I know there is a nice one with headers and carb at Abbey Road Automotive West Side. Call and ask for Doug, tell him Anthony sent you. He needs to sell and he is a master Mazda mechanic, check it out.

How bad is the rust? Are you sure that it is just surface rust?

When I purchased my first SE it had no leaks either and it was mint for $300. But I bet I would not find a deal like that again other that the second SE Tha I got for $600 with no leaks, (it did not had an engine or tranmission either)

$2000 US for an -SE is either a screaming deal or a pile of crap.

I paid $2k for mine with 185k miles. I paid too much and could have done better but my other first gen. was totaled leaving me carless so time was not on my side. It still left me $800 from the settlement so you lose some, win some.

Hey, its always cool to see others from Edmonton who like first generations (we're a rare breed around here) anyways that seems like a decent price for the car if its in good running condition. The biggest thing I would be worried about around here is rust, as long as it is nothing major it should be a good car!

2K isn't bad. Paid 1K for mine but had to put a little bit of work into her. Sounds like the wear and tear was fairly similar. If the car is in good mechanical shape and needs little to be driven daily then yeah, it is a good deal.
