The user on here is "Malambry", and he's a pretty cool guy. I PM'd him a while back and he sais the car is still running, and is getting a motor built by Ludwig. I told him he should bring it out to the autocross! 404 Malambry not found... It's Maguire. And the engine was done about a year ago. He has autocrossed it. |

all of which are SAs cause everyone knows SAs are hotter;) silver SA with datsun flares left black. ALL kinds of goodies suspension wise, too many to list. full 5 lug suspension swap with SE rearend. SE rearend built to its absolute strongest point; moser axles, kaaz diff, some form of treatment to the gears to make them mucho mucho stronger. with some 16x7 and 16x8 gold SSR reverse mesh wheels. for the power plant, its either be a 4 port 13b ported and boosted, a NA ported 20b, a lightly boosted 20b, SR20DET, or LS1. the other option is the same as above except with the very rare pacifica widebody kit instead of the flares. with some bigger wheels. |

Which dream FB? I've got three!
They all start with an S3 FB base which gets completely stripped to the metal inside, outside and upside down and then painted back as close to a "factory" finish as possible. Interiors are stock S3 grey interiors, though one of them would probably end up with some sort of racing-specific seats and quite a bit of weight reduction for interior. The main reason I have three is because there are three powerplants and three paint colours that I really like, so I don't think I'd be able to choose between them if I had an unilmited supply of money. I'd just have to build 'em all. The Underdog: This is the daily cruiser. The fun but reliable N/A that doesn't chug premium gas like it's going out of style. Nearly twice as powerful as stock, it cruises along under a cloak of near-stock stealth, awaiting it's next unsuspecting victim. It's also basically the car I'm building right now. Paint: K3 - Sunbeam Silver Metallic Engine: The Ultimate Streetable 12a Drivetrain: Stock S3 tranny, miata torsen diff, mazdatrix driveshaft Suspension: RB Springs, KYB GR-2 Gas Shocks, Poly bushings front, Rubber bushings rear, Front RB sway bar, stock rear swaybar (or no swaybar, haven't decided yet) Brakes: Stock 4wheel GSL discs, TII Brake Booster and master cyl, stainless steel lines, Hawk HPS brake pads Fuel: Mallory Comp 70 Fuel pump, Holley 1-4psi FPR, ReSpeed fuel pressure gauge, standard rubber hoses Ignition: 2nd gen coil with TT box until someone devises a way to create a small, simple iginiton control computer to use a 2nd Gen CAS in an FB Intake: Sterling Carb, ported intake mani, ISCRacing Airbox Cooling: Aluminum Rad (as yet unspecified), 2nd Gen FMOC, e-fan with thermoswitch Steering: Completely NEW stock components (until someone comes out with something better. Electrical: 2nd Gen Fuse Box, Non Sealed-beam headlights with replaceable bulbs, headlight relay, brand new hand-made copper battery wires with larger gauge, FD Alternator and dual pulley Exhaust: RB Street Port exhaust system Cosmetics: Dan Atkins clear corner lenses, IoTus clear taillights, '83LE rims with black powdercoated centres and polished lips, Rubberized "euro sport" antenna, smoked glass sunroof Tires: Sumitomo HTR200s Sound: Infinity Kappa 63.7i rear speakers, Infinity Kappa 52.7i front speakers, Infinity Reference 8" sub (x2) in custom rear enclosures between back of hatch and taillights, Infiinity reference 4channel amp for speakers, Infinity reference sub amp, Nakamichi CD300 deck, Akiratdk stereo surround with 3-guage cluster Other: Water Temp, Oil Temp and Oil Pressure gauges mounted in Akiratdk stereo surround. 2x Wideband O2 sensor (one in each pipe of RB system so 1 per rotor), gauges mounted on pillar-gauge pod, and space-age sound deadening everywhere. The Turbo This is a track/road car. It guzzles premium with reckless abandon, has suspension that you wouldn't want to take on old country roads for fear of your internal organs protesting, and it's louder than the UnderDog, but you *can* take it on the street. Since I'm not a "balls-to-the-wall" racer (yet) I opted to keep this streetable instead of making a 100% track car, so it will have a few amenities not usually found in full-out race cars. For example, a passenger seat (removable though) and a stock dash. Paint: Either A7, AY, U2, DP, V3, or L6 (see chart) Engine: Probably a highly modified S4 or S5 13b with TII irons but N/A high comp rotors, a methanol injection system, large intercooler, some sort of upgraded turbo, engine management system (probably haltech), and whatever port job works well for turbos. Drivetrain: I don't know a lot about transmissions, so I'll tentatively say a "dogbox" since I've heard that name thrown around as an expensive race tranny that's strong and fast to shift. Since it's a power car, I'd probably be going Ford 9" rear and have some sort of different suspension setup that doesn't suck nearly as much as the watt's link and control arms do. Suspension: Eibach springs and Tokico blue adjustible shocks, poly bushings front, rubber rear, probably RB front sway bar, a strut tower brace that also braces against the firewall, coilovers, adjustible end links, and those things that you mod the strut tower for to let you adjust your alignment Brakes: front and rear TII big brake conversion with 4-pot calipers, Hawk pads Fuel: Whatever kicks ass for a high comp turbo motor Ignition: handled by the haltech, probably using 3 MSD boxes like DF's car has Intake: Again, not my forte... but sounds like upgraded injectors and some sort of porting or modification of the intake would be necessary Cooling: Aluminum rad, good e-fan, temp sensor should be the screw-in variety not the between-the-fins variety Steering: Again, same as above unless something better appears Electrical: same as above but add in whatever is necessary for the fuel and ignition control Exhaust: since the turbo has a single downpipe, it'll probably have to be some sort of custom system that allows enough flow Cosmetics: *functional* body kit, to keep it on the ground at higher speeds. Hopefully something that looks awesome too. Probably no sunroof. Fiberglass or CF wherever I can put it. Tires: Probably a set of tires specifically for racing and another set for city driving Sound: minimalist. Just a deck and 4 speakers powered from the deck. Enough to keep it rockin' when not at the track Other: Racing seat of some sort, racing steering wheel, stripped interior, and all the various gauges needed to keep a good turbo car running The Beast I've always wanted a 20b or 4-rotor engined car, so that's what this car is. I've also wanted a supercharged car, so why not go all-out and have a supercharged, ported 20b? Since this car has power to spare, I don't bother with the weight reduction. It's a full car, including space-age sound deadening and an awesome sound system like the UnderDog has and a full interior. Paint: H1 - Sparkling Black Metallic Engine: Ported, built up Cosmo 20b... Maybe a supercharger, why the hell not Drivetrain: something that can handle TORQUE... Dogbox? Suspension: See "The Turbo" Brakes: See "The Turbo" Fuel: I get the feeling this will need a massive fuel system. SS Lines of large diameter and good in-tank pump or two is a must Ignition: Gotta be some sort of custom awesomeness that's computer controlled Intake: Whatever gets as much air as possible in. Cooling: Whatever it takes to keep a super 20b cool Steering: See "The UnderDog" Electrical: See "The Turbo" Exhaust: Custom Biggass exhaust Cosmetics: Maybe a widebody kit, because a car with this kind of power and torque under the hood screams "I'm a big bugger that's coming to kick your ass" Tires: BIG. Sound: This is where the "Screw the hatch area, let's strike some fear into their hearts" sound system would come in Other: |
the red swedish widenbody fb but with a peripheral 20b.

Oh and it needs one of them hot a$$ Latino, or Asian hotties in the passenger seat.

Hrm, dream (or "next" depending on how you look at it) is built to old GTU specs; as close to Team Highball's '86 Daytona car as possible. Peripheral 12A, widebody, whaletail, etcetera. Built to SVRA specs because, well, what's the point if you can't roadrace it?
Current project's doing about everything that I want in a street car. S5 internals in... well, let's just say bigass streetported irons, ITBs, trilink and panhard, 5-bolt conversion (T2 rotors of course), Wilwood 4-pots up front, non-assist dual master cylinder brake setup, Bilstein struts / shocks. No, not the P30-0104 inserts. Heh heh heh. This is, of course, ignoring little bits and pieces. |
Pamela.

ahhh, dreams....
1980 RX-7, skymaster blue with metallic chip (nightime sky effect) S3 front end front air dam slight and discreet fender flares all around slim whale tail 13B Renesis, the 9k happy version, forified to run above 10k (N/A would be ok... at first) with three shiny sequential two barrel carburators! (no one said it had to make sense) well, maybe not 5 lug FC front suspension swap with quad calipers custom double wishbone independent rear suspension with a torsen LSD (squeezing a TII rear in would be acceptable) What better wheels for an RX-7 than BBS RX wheels? 205s on 8 inch wide rims adjustable coilovers make sense, but a coil on adjustable airbag suspension would be awesome. Change stance on the fly and let the car jump Toyota Getrag V160 or V161 transmission, adapted to fit custom aluminum driveshaft almost stock black SA interior 79' 130mph speedo, 12k tach in stock location with stock coloring rear +1 seat, with speakers in molding on sides Clarion gutted to house wifi/cellnet/gps/bluetooth enabled computer with digital tuner, knobs still functional though slurpy style cdrom in tape deck location fold fown 7" LCD screen, touchpad integrated into top of ashtray, a GUI that can be run keyboardless foldable bluetooth keyboard in glove box, for those ops that no GUI is good for extra gauges, with oil pressure and voltmeter at the top of the list, displayed on LCD two cup holders in front, somewhere, one for the rear too adjustble and fully collapsable steering wheel to compliment the seats that fold into a bed, onboard AI, four directable jet engines in the underbody plus two at the rear, sealed chamber rebreather system, submersible mode, refinery in location of the gas tank to convert trash into hydrogen... EDIT: 205s are big enough. :-P |
My dream FB would be either a Black widebody version with full fuel injected bridgeport like my old car, or a turbo set up like my current car:

My FB

Ah, what a beatiful car them FBs are.
This one is mine, an 84 12A with 285000 kms (you can turn the engine by turning the alternator wheel), but the damm thing still runs! In terms of upgrades, my knowledge and budget rather limit the upgrades, but, its got a header and almost straight-piped, some 8mm NGK sparkwires, a custom hood vent and a custom spoiler, and a temporary switch start and 14" Carroll Shelby rims (Which I think theyre kinda rare, I have that 4x110 pattern). Also took out all the carpet and radio and whatnot. My dream? SOmehow make the 12A (a new one) more powerful, and make my own body kit for it... |
