When your daughter makes your birthday cake in the shape of your car.

Another birthday and another RX7 cake. Even though it's been up on jacks next door since October, I still talk about it enough for my wife and daughter to make a 7 cake.

when you sold your SA because you worked on it more than you drove it and spent more than you paid for the car on maintenance and up grades , but 2 yrs later you miss it

You drive by your friends house, give it a 2nd gear pull and coast down the engine, then receive a text message from that same friend 20 minutes later saying "nice two foot flames."

I'm pretty infatuated with my Dellorto. So what if it's running rich! :p

Have to walk to hell and back for good parts....

When you're a 41 year old white guy & your small town local police profile you & your young daughter frequently anyway.

blink182 09-05-13 05:48 PM

when you constanly have to add oil because your coolers o-rings went out...

Cameron38 09-12-13 06:52 PM

When you spend more on replacing faded or broken interior pieces than you spent buying the car!

Garyrotor79 09-13-13 01:46 PM

You carry a spare fuel filter with you and can change it in five minutes or less. Just back onto the nearest curb and crawl under.

gonzoguy 09-14-13 01:57 PM

When you whip into a parking lot at night and some one asks if that's a Corvette and you laugh.

When you pull into a mazda dealer and the service kid asks, what's that.

Haha. Mine doesn't have any badges except the striker for the hatch so no body ever guesses right. I hear datsun all the time.

rotornoob 09-16-13 09:55 PM

Hahaha yeah I hear datsun, supra, and the almighty "what kind of kit car is that?" Lol

And mine has al of the badges too...

Ghooble 09-19-13 02:34 AM

"Nice 240(sx) bro"

Siiiiigh..

gonzoguy 09-19-13 02:38 AM

I say: if you don't know cars, don't say anything at all.

When two vise grips have a permanent home in the hatch.

When those two vise grips cost more than the dam hatch strut, because you can't buy a new one for your SE.

I know the reg ones Are avail. I need the one that has the contact switches in for the rear wiper and defogger ( yes they both do work, ha!)

gonzoguy 09-19-13 02:29 PM

The only place to get them is mazdatrix or the dealership if you want It to function properly.

Rotaryhaven 09-19-13 02:31 PM

you know you are a first gen owner when the only places you stop are the auto parts stores, the mazda dealership, the gas station, and/or the side of the road because you got stranded!!!!!!!!!!!

13bGsl-se 10-06-13 10:09 PM

When someone says their rotors are bad and you look confused because you don't know if its the motor or the brakes.

Simon Tibbett 10-09-13 05:51 AM

When you think your car not shooting fire balls means the car has an issue.

rotornoob 10-16-13 05:52 PM

When you race another first gen and all the fireballs remind you of a street fighter battle :p

I found that when I replaced the one on the left with a strong new one, it was enough to hold the hatch up even though the one on the right is the original and kinda weak.

You know you are a FB owner when you look in the mirror and see a bruise on your head from hitting the roof of the car when you enter.

rotornoob 11-17-13 12:19 AM

You know you are a first gen owner when fabrication of parts becomes standard operating procedure
