When going to the junkyard to see what's "new" is monthly entertainment.

With the recent drop in prices I've found myself giving it a bit more revs

(Mines not a PP though )

When you read this thread to make yourself feel better about spending exorbitant money on your car.

When driving in traffic, other drivers look at you and your car and you think "whats your problem?" then you realise you're driving an RX-7...

I'm having trouble trying to squeeze this one into a "when...", but anyway... yesterday I was on the side of the road with my girlfriend, with the bonnet up on the car, trying to find where the smoke was coming from. A girl walked past and smiled at the car, staring at it as she walked past. My first reaction was "f**k you", because she was smiling at the fact that here again was another RX-7 with reliability problems.

Then I realised, she probably just liked the car...

Kids first car...

You know you are a 1st gen owner when...
You buy a stock '81 to be your 16 year old son's first car, then start thinking of reasons to keep it for yourself. He can learn just as well on a volkswagon, right?

...when you call EVERY fuel injection/carburetor rebuild shop in the state asking if they rebuild carbs, and there being long silences on the phone as if you've asked the square root of 934100, then realizing, "...hey, i'll just buy a Weber from RB..."

I do that. Well, I don't know about the baby bit. Its not just 12A, but of course 13B, 20B, 26B, 787...

I also get frustrated when I hear anything else referred to as a rotary, like "rotary hand beater", "rotary telephone", "rotary plough", "rotary club". They aren't rotaries.

when you noticed the guy parked next to your winter car(rx8) at work has a plate with the number 12a213bxx and he comes out at lunch and your takings pics of it cause you wished you had it for you 1st gen TII swap. no lie this happen to me today.

you know your a first gen owner when you spend most of you time trying to figure out how to get a 20b carbed and under 5k$ to put in you sa.

as a side note when i went to pic up my sa when i was going to buy it. me and my buddy had to take exit 20b to get to his house. then on the way back realized we had to take exit 12a . sad thing i made a comment to the kid i got the car from and he had no idea what a 20b is.

When you own an Rx8 and an FB, and would rather drop a streetported 13B-RE into your FB with a GT30R snail on the side of it than drop it into the Rx8.

You know you're a LONGTIME 1st-gen owner when you've learned to avoid any train of thought that starts out "...how hard can it be?"

When you see a red first gen with Florida tags parked one space over from you at Wal-Mart and you leave a note on the windsheild that told them about the RX-7 Club. Happened to me tonight, it was missing the cover on the passenger tail light and it was a 12A car(+ aluminum wheels). Didn't look too bad, I hope they come on here or are already on here and post up!

When for the first time ever you go to Pick-n-Pull and find no first gen cars.
