window regualtor adjustment

I hate making another new thread, but the window regulator holds the window too vertical, it looks like the window wants to be at more of an angle in order to fit into the guides. What am I missing here?

The old window shattered because there was too much resistance when rolling up/down.

Was there some kind of alignment spacers? Should I use washers??? It doesn't look like there is much positioning adjustment possible.

I don't have any answers for you - but am looking forward to seeing what others have to say...
That said -- is your problem that the top edge of the window seems too far "in" towards the centerline of the car?
I pulled my driver side window to get the mechanism out for cleaning and re-lubing. On reassembly of everything the top edge of the window seems to be angled a bit to far towards the car centerline and when it gets almost all the way "up" it's snagging the window channel rubber and trying to fold it under as it goes that last half inch. If I hold the channel in place (effectively forcing the top of the window outward just a bit) with my finger it goes up fine. Just wondering if that was similar to what you're seeing? I know you mentioned actually breaking the glass, so it sounds like yours is in a significantly more f'd-up state, but curious in any case...

is there not an adjustment at the lower end of the window channel that will allow it to be moved inward? that will move the top of the window out.

the top is too far out, it is too vertical, it needs to be slanted inward

This is a problem when replacing the bailey channel with new rubber.

I struggled a lot with this but eventually got it to work.

Hopefully this helps: S3 RX7 window regulator - replace or reconditioning possible - Page 2 - AusRotary

oh, in that case, moving the lower channel out from center of car would move the top inward. i was thing of it the other way.

the front window channel has an adjustment, but it only moves to front/rear.

I removed the front channel and the inner door felt guide.

the back channel doesn't have any adjustment. if I can get the window to go up and down with slight tension, I will end this project.

As described in the topic i linked, you can gain adjustment of the back alignment by slotting/ redrilling the 2 horizontal bolt holes near the bottom which are not adjustable from the factory.
