i dont think i could have resisted either.. case in point last friday i duked one of my fellow officers into a little race. i was driving the RX-8 and i pulled next to him and looked over at him..he smiled. i then pulled a little ahead of him to "bait" him in. he got next to me and hammered it (in the crown vic). i dropped from 6th to 3rd and let him have it. the 8 was the victor that day.

That's crazy... You'd get your license suspended for that around here.

Back in the 70s I was cruising about 100 on I-80 in the high desert in my Road Runner. That stretch, back then, was 150 miles between fuel stops. Late at night, not a single other car out. Then I see headlights coming up behind me. Keep in mind, this part of the interstate is flat and straight for many many miles.

This guy is coming up quick, I'm thinking popo, no, they aren't THAT fast I think to myself, kick it up to 120. This Ferrari blows past me, I downshift, hit 140, he still walks away from me, sooo cool. A couple years later I found out that the RR could hit 160 and still have go pedal left. Back then it was fun to do that sort of ****. Now days 100+ mph is 'Do NOt Pass Go, Go Directly To Jail', then lose your licence. No sense of humour any more.

depends on your state's laws. i would say that here in ohio it may be called drag racing as that would fit under our city code. 6 point offense as its an M1. so the answer is that its not a good idea.

I was driving my 71 Lemans (455 swap), and my cousin was following me in his 70 Chevelle (very strong 350, but geared for streetlight racing). We were on a 4 lane highway heading to my place, and this Roadrunner (I think, only saw a flash of paint) blew by us like we were standing still. He was going so fast, that we never even considered trying to chase. I think both of our jaws were on the floor. Hell, we were doing like 80 when he passed us. Unbelievable!
