Great long hood styling
Forward Flipping Hood...Begging for a custom mural
An easy TII swap away from V8 stomping power and speed.

Dislikes:
Not turbocharged from the factory(at least in the states)
That so many 1st gens you see have been badly mistreated and beat to hell.

girls think its sexy

Dislikes
hard to find/exspensive parts
hard to find rims
dosent come turbo charged

Loves:
Sound of the rotary engine (Ah that sound!)
timeless body styling (and the hood pops forward!)
RWD
ingenously simple, unique engine
Engine "easy" to rebuild
Pop-up lights
Seating for two
Light weight, great handling
Attention-getting
All-time Favorite car since I was a kid!!!
"Exotic" yet inexpensive

Dislikes:
12A is hopelessly uderpowered
so low to the ground, easily lends to rusting
tempremental engine with inherent weaknesses: Apex seals, springs, and oil rings.
Oil needs to be injected into combustion chamber
Must sacrifice drivability (and torque) for true performance (unless u swap TII of course).
Parts are getting scarce!!! and expensive
Mazda didnt take the rotary to level it should be at today. Nowhere near enough RD and today all we see is one car with the rotary...

hate steering
don't like the bumpers (FB)
wish it had IRS but don't mind the simplicity of the 4 link

Like the lightness... even when not under boost it's right peppy.
Love old school Japanese iron
Love driving it like I stole it because it's just easy to do.

I like:
Fun to drive
12a has decent power for such a light frame
gets up and goes when you lay down the foot
stock suspension is pretty stiff..
Sound of the rotary

Dislike:
How hard it is to get aftermarket parts..

LIKES:
- exterior styling
- purity
- the pleasure that comes from driving it
- the sounds
- the G-forces
- the space in the engine bay to work
- being able to disassemble and reassemble everything at will
- the fact that the aftermarket doesn't support it

DISLIKES:
- the stock seats
- the steering's mind
- rust
- bandwagon owners (i.e. the cornballs)

Priceless--- the looks on owners faces when I blow FD's, STI and other "newer" cars away at time trials....

how it looks with the mariah wide body kit
how it accelerates even with a larger turbine on it (RHC-7(think 62-1)
how many looks it gets!

trying to have sex it in sucks, even when I was 18 it was a PITA, now that I am 40 its even worse

ya flip the seats back, have her stradle the tranny hump doggy style with a knee in each seat, and then put her head towards the rear glass. You have to be a contortionist to get into position.... course the sunroof helps a lot, my first one didn't have that option kinda makes me feel like a tank commander or something

I forgot one thing;

I love the fact that when I go, "yeah I'm thinking about pumping up my car, a turbo, new carb, some porting that should do it!" and people go, "what about yoru cam-shafts?" My reaction is, "**** camshafts! Its all about the triangle!" And tehy give me this, are you insane look. O.o it makes me feel very special that I am not normal and that I have a not normal car XD LOL

hate the fact that when most magazines speak of legendary old school cars they almost never talk about the first gen. its soo forgotten to anyone that doesnt own one.

love the fact that if you can imagine it and have the skill or money you can do it to it. anything from V8 to 3rotor, ford 9'' rear to fc brake conversion that will then allow you to use FC big brake conversion. just think out the box.

oh one more hate......the mariah widebody kit.....it used to be nice but c'mon people, i know its a little harder to find but there are other ways to go wide with your first gens........and they do make bolt on fender flares that are not from Z cars or have to modified.

Likes: I love the sound of the motor, i love the old school design of it...it has a unique european flare, no one in my area owns one, i smoke ricers all day in it, tight handling, comfy seats, and two different kind of sunroofs..it's awesome!

Dislikes: how i can't tilt the steering wheel up and it is a PITA to get in/out of, lack of leg room..i have big feet so when my foots not on the clutch it just kinda hoovers over the cluth pedal, the sloooow electric windows, horrible gas mileage, and as someone said it was definately harder than the manual said to change the waterpump

all in all i love the car, it's paid off and is a beast on the circuit, and makes a cool daily.

I love the fact that I destroy feeble pistons, and can take corners at 90 MPH, while chatting with passenger

I hate having something go wrong everytime I fix something else.

I dislike.....nothin.....I even enjoy her when shes broke. ( Seeking mental help as we speak)

The looks
The "like a glove" feel
Breaking loose in 2nd gear
Overall drive experience
FB owners much cooler and more helpful than FC and FD owners

Dislikes-
Isn't as fast as my FC
Doesn't handle like my FC
Doesn't have the interior my FC has
No IRS!
Basically I love the FB more than the FC, but it can't even compare. Thats why I have both.

*Light weight makes braking a freakin' hoot...
*Said weight also magnifies suspension changes so it handles like a go-kart...
*SA-style dash and interior is a classic sportscar theme that is timeless...
*8100 rpm redline is priceless...
*The looks, THE LOOK of the car is simply unique. I take up two parking spaces at work and park so that I can see my car simply by getting up and taking 5 steps from my cubicle. Nothing else has that swoop look and the Weds Autobahn rims make it perfect.

At said parking lot one Saturday morning...

Dislikes:...there are no hates or the cars would have been gone a loong time ago...
*Despite steep rear gearing, the complete lack of torque below 2500 rpm...of course, I was 'raised' on V8 Pontiac torque, so that's not really fair now that I think of it...
*The lack of a decent front bumper (some get close) and especially a rear diffuser for the FB's...
*The fragile nature of the transmissions and no 6th gear...
*Mazda abandoning the FMOC in the 83 and 84 cars I own now...
*The lack of places to hide any kind of a serious over-the-top stereo system.

Like: Pretty much everything, fun to drive and work on. Easy to get and understand. easy to modify with good power gain even on little stuff like exhaust. beautiful to look at. nice stance.
Dislikes: That its not where I want it to be. Once its where I want it to be, theres more I want to do to it. Oh well, maybe that should be a like
