Finished replacing the struts & brakes on the wife's '05 Buick Century, which we inherited from my dad a couple years back. Struts were so far gone that depressing the pistons resulted in them just staying all the way down in the bores. Totally dead, Jim.
I'd forgotten how much 'fun' it is to work on the undercarriage of a car that had spent years enduring Iowa winters, road salt, and dirt roads. Yuck.
Anyone who doesn't think this is something I did to/for my SA, clearly is not married. Maintaining positive wife faction is crucial to any hobby.

well, i drove it. there is a clunk in my steering now when i go from right to left. going to jack it up and check out the front end when i change out my oil cooler which will be on it's way soon. i swear, i can't go near the thing without something going wrong, curse of the rx7 maybe? still puts a smile on my face when i drive it, so i just keep listening to the voices in my head telling me it will be alright

I realized that my FB radiator has come un-soldered from the mounting bracket at one end. Can this be fixed if not where can I get a good replacement. Mazdatrix does not carry them anymore and please don't tell me ebay or other such crap...
Anyone?

Mike, I picked up a Champion radiator on Ebay (sorry). Looks great, fits great, works great, and the price was very reasonable.
I got a 3 row version, which fits fine with a 12a. Orion84gsl got the 2 row version, which was snug with a 13b.
I have no problem recommending this radiator. Very solid build...

The good news is, after about an hour of trying to remember exactly how to adjust an oxy-fuel torch, I remembered enough about brazing to re-attach the doubler ring to the inside of the air cleaner cover I'm working on. Pretty smooth brasswork, too.
The bad news is, I forgot enough about brazing that I let the center of the piece get a bit too hot for a bit too long, and the cover now remarkably resembles a Pringles chip.
I think I now know why it was spot-welded instead of full-seamed.

today i swapped out my MAF again, the cruised around for about an hour, spacing out and thinking of what to fix, make, customize, fabricate, modify, build or change next.
BTW auto electronics are weird... I was bored the other day and I used my scope to test and check both of my spare MAF's and the MAF that seemed text book perfect actually made my car run like ***, while the "still in spec, yet could be better" MAF makes my car happy as a clam
