What did you do to your FB today?
Bought a bottle of 2 stroke oil to start premixing in the fb until my metering pump issues are sorted. The GLC got all the attention today! Full oil change and battery charge and to do list created. Still runs sweet though.
I finally got the frankenstien close ratio transmission that I put together with the gearset from a '80 626 that I got from MTheoryInc installed, along with the SA shortshifter I got from Banzai.
Held my breath during the test drive cause I am by no means a transmission rebuild expert...... All is well!!!! Love the ratios and the shifter works well too.
You dont realize just how bad the syncronizers are until you get new ones!!!!

Looks great DD, the rotary gods are smiling down upon that beautiful engine bay.
You're gonna have to show those FDs what's what this year Ray, that tranny should be fun on the dragon.

Very nice engine Divin.
I pulled the rear brakes off and removed the axles in preparation for the TII rear brakes and Moser 5-bolt axles. Anyone looking for GSL big bearing axles, nearly new Hawk HPS pads with stainless lines and nearly new cross drilled/slotted rotors? (also known as a waste of money)
I've had the pads and rotors on since my first brake job on the car in 07 and they look like they've seen much less than the 30K KM they've been used for.
Also did the 800 and 1000 grit sanding on my last BBS rim lip. Sisters are coming over for me to help with a sub/amp install and then I'll try to get the last lip finished tonight. I've been lacking in motivation for a while now. Needs to stop because the weather has been absolutely amazing for March and I should not be driving a Slowfire when it's this nice.

Installed my new steering wheel surround piece I got from the classifieds here, our classifieds have been a gold mine for me lately, took her for a spin and to go to an appointment, patted her on the hood and let her rest.

Cleaned up my workbench, prepping for the next phase of work.
Stared at my engine bay for a while. Contemplating what to do with the brake hardlines, if anything. Their finish has pitted over the years, and they now look out of place in the bay.

yes it can! its harder than the engine IMO
the LSD is EASY.... the R&P is easy too, but compared to other cars... find a ford mechanic, they can set up an Rx7 diff in 30 seconds.

I want to do it my self. That is where most of the fun of my car comes from is figuring out how to do this stuff. I'm not a machanic so I have to figure it all out and more or less teach myself how to do it. I did that with the paint and body work, the engine, rebuilt it last winter, never had built a engine of any kind, now the tranny. The only part of my car that I did not do myself is the interior, (paid a high end interior guy to do that) and the rear end, and its coming! I'm not to smart but I am determined!
the interior looks like it might be kind of fun, you just take the old seat cover, make patterns, and duplicate....
one of the projects i wanna do to peepers is door panels

I don't think it would handle leather, but it did just fine with vinyl and cloth (and carpet). You just have to pay attention to keep it moving.
Door panels are definitely doable as a learning upholstery project; not complex.
I hung around alot while the guy did mine. I am usually a DIY guy all the way but I got the impression that any first effort on my part would not be up to my standards!!!!!!!!
I'm happy with the decision cause I ended up with a totally custom leather interior that is first rate. Still looks good after 15 years.
