car supposedly has only 14k miles, and the dealership "claims" that since it sat so much that the Apex seals were blown when it was started last, so a new 12A engine was installed.
Couple questions:
Does Mazda make brand new 12A engines or would it be a rebuilt one?
What do you guys think this car is really worth?
Would you be worried about a bunch of other problems since the car sat so long and only has 14k miles?
I'm curious to know everyone's opinion. Thanks.

well, i know where a new mazda 12a for a s3 is sitting right now... its not impossible to find them. im guessing the bushings and everything are all dry rotted so i would worry about that. if the car has been in a climate control storage then i would see the bushings and hoses not being that bad. but i would not be buying a car like this to drive that is for sure.
i think it would probably get up close to 7k but not much over if it even gets there.
i have noticed the 83 le is not all that rare. at least not in my neck of the woods. i know of three that are running and one rotting.

83 Limited Sold on Ebay
Car went for $8K. What do you guys think, I think that's a little too much. It was a rebuilt 12A engine and dealership didn't know too much of the history. Supposedly the original owner traded it in. Why would someone trade in that car and probably get next to nothing for it.

thats what i was thinking, if it were still the original motor and under the hood was much cleaner i would say it was worth it. also how does a car get that grimy under the hood after 14k? the belly was cleaner then that.
the new owner is probably the luckiest 7 owner at the moment, he is sporting a new 83 rx7 lol
