Wink Thank you OGTA

Isn't it funny how you can have some "best friends" that you've only met in person a handful of times, if at all?

I don't get on this forum much anymore (or any others), but still value the relationships more than I can put into words. So many great people here, and I'm so proud to have been a part of this community for so many years. I hope to be more active here again in the future.

I've been fighting cancer since 2011, and it's been quite an experience. There is no cure, and Chemo would only slow it down if it had any effect at all. So I'm curing it myself using all of the problem solving abilities I've learned on this site. And so far, it's looking pretty damned good.

Anyway, to the point of this post. I haven't been able to make it to DGRR for several years now, but this year I've decided to make the trip no matter what. Ray Green got with some other "best friends" of mine and they've set me up with lodging rent free. I'm always amazed by the fellowship that can be created around a simple engine concept. lol.

Thank you guys. I can't wait to see everyone again...

The community here is truly amazing! Its really incredible that one car can bring so many people together.

Kentetsu, I wish you the best in your battle brother! Have fun at DGRR in April. One of these years I'll make it down there. Seems like a great time. I just have to wait for my kids to get a little older and the wife and I will be able to make the trip down.

mazdaverx713b, you really like those wheels? I like my Revolutions a lot better, but at 8 inches wide I just couldn't find any rubber to fit them since the Sumitomos went away. I grabbed these wheels cheap so I could run cheap skinny tires. They're really beat up, with lots of curb rash and dents in them. lol.

Now the Revolutions have the race rubber on them. I miss the fat street tires though. Now my poor car looks like it's been neutered.

I do like them. They have a nice retro look to them and go great with the sunrise red paint. I'm usually not one for aftermarket wheels but I thought to myself, I'd like to get a set of those. They just have a great look I think.

I hope you make a recovery, and thoroughly enjoy your time. You are right. I find it so interesting that people with common interest band together.

I do also know that visiting websites is more fun than money can buy!!

I wish you well

Rich

Got some good news last night. I wasn't due for a CT scan for a few more weeks, but with this persistent never ending ridiculously potent "cold" that I've been fighting for the last 7 weeks they decided to move it up to "right now". They wanted to check for pneumonia, but also were worried that the tumors on my lung might be invading.

Scan showed minimal increase in size, and only in a couple of small regions. So my plan appears to be at least as successful as the best possible results from chemo, but with no side effects. I think I may be onto something.

Wonderful news Mark, thanks for sharing your journey with us.

I'm wondering if rotary exhaust has anything to do with this.

Either because you're avoiding it or because your breathing more of it.

Or perhaps it's the work of the Rotary Gods, I know they're on your side.

Mark, I just noticed you've got a Sterling carb. Are these things all they're cracked up to be?

I mean, are they any better than a TG Farell Nikki?

What's the dif?

Tim, good to hear you're still in the brew business. That **** sure do make a rotary meet.

Which carb is better? Only a run through the Dragon can determine that.

I'm brewing as we speak. Plenty for all our guests.

You'll have to check the Sterling out in person Ray. I've always been very satisfied with it.

Will do Mark, see you there.

I need to pick you mind about this Sterling stuff, Jeff and Tim have differences of opinion that need to be sorted out.

Jeff, any chance of you showing at the Dragon?
