I noticed this car too. Looks clean, even the interior isn't too bad. Several modifications under the hood however and the 38K miles is bogus. This is an early build 78 car to boot. A lot of rough rusty edges for a california car though......At $800 you would not get hurt, but before investing too much money, I'd want to find out more details.

It's not a California car anymore, though it may have been a Cali build originally as it has no cold-start bottle.
Couldn't be registered in Cali now, as it's emissions stripped & header equipped. Very telling that it has no plates on it.
I don't think that's factory pinstriping on it - - I don't recall factory stripes wrapping around on the front of the car; on the 80's it ended at the front fenders - - and the side moldings are missing. Makes it possible that this car has been repainted.
Clearly, it's not an "SE." Looks more like a GS build from what can be seen.
Interior's fairly nice, though it's been molested with aftermarket stereo (with missing faceplate) and speakers, and there's evidence of wire harness hackery visible. Headliner's coming undone in the rear. Console hinge is busted.
The dash and door trim stripe looks odd to me, too; it's chrome with a color center stripe, instead of color with a center chrome stripe. Maybe an early build thing, though.
Shift boot's gone and the inner boots are disassembled; what's up with that?
Luggage area strap is missing.
Rear-window defroster wires are missing.
$800 is a good price, considering that it can't legally be registered where it's being sold.

the seats don't match either, as long as we're nitpicking. engine has an FC thermostat housing on it, so it might be an FC engine
that being said i like it!

I like it too - - I wish I had the space to have a non-streetable project car; I'd snag this one at that price. For its age it's in good shape. I like the Spark Yellows.
Simply don't have the room and budget for another car, though.
Did they make a 12A for the FCs? I thought they were all 13Bs? Hard to judge from the one pic, but that looks like a 12A to me based on its length.
Still carrying the SA alternator, and looks to still be using the points ignition, too. At least all the points parts are still on the fender. A lot of the wiring on the left fender has been changed, though - - relays and stuff over there with no cables connected.
Come on DD. Just prop it up on some blocks out front and make it a Rotary Mailbox. Crack the drivers window for a mail slot and the rear hatch could handle those larger part shipments. And when you need that hard to find part in a hurry, its all right there!

A few problems with that plan:1) I don't think the HOA, or the wife, would be thrilled.
2) I wouldn't insult a -7 by making yard art out of it.
3) With the exception of the SA seats (& I'm already working to correct this), I don't see any parts on that car that are preferable to what I'm running now. Swaps would likely be a downgrade.
would definitely pick it up if i had the cash. smog wouldn't be an issue for me, and i wouldn't mind another money-stealing project
and i have always wanted a car that does 130 while sitting still... lol

If I hadn't just dropped the better part of 4 bills on a trans and carb & if it was still original under the hood, I would have been very tempted to grab it for parts, as sad as that is to do to a nice restorable car.
