a little so-cal help! Gas Issue
okay so i REALLY didn't want to start a thread, especially here but don't know where to go! (moderators move if neccisary)! but id like sum answers if possible.
Basically ive been workin my *** off and need a couple days vacation. deciding to take the boat out since its nice a hot now. I live in SOCAL and would would like to get out to puddingstone n try sum water skiing or sumthin. i came up on an old wooden speed boat from 1960(i believe the motor is white star) and ran it once back in 2005. now that i pulled it out and started it, it ran like **** for 2 min then died. took it to shop and they cleaned all kinds of **** outta the carbs. they said DO NOT use this ethonal blended gas (and if i must, then add startron additive) but that a motor this old cant handle it for too long and that a rebuild will run a little under 3000. AS i like to keep things as original as possible i dont want to break it or spend that kinda money on it.
MY question to you guy's is does any one know or have seen ANY Ethonal-Free stations that sell gas in SOCAL?(i know, i know its like tryin to find ice water in hell) ive got the fuel test kit and before i go around usin it everywhere i was wonderin if sumone can point me in the right direction. ive searched in this forum and many others and can't find anything!. and would like to go this weekend otherwise the boats goin back in storage if i cant use it(damn neighbors complaing).
any help is useful! and thanks in advance guys!
