shush girl, shut your lips

i know gay *** song, anyways i was wondering if anyone had pics of the inside of an rb pre-silencer? i think the local shop may have something similar just want to check.

also interested in what you guys use to quiet this things down. i just installed RB headers and found out my Cat had been gutted so i said screw it. right now its straight piped from the header to a cheap ebay can. sound quality is pretty good and deep, not too raspy. but it's WAAAAAY too loud, and with a silencer tip it just sounds too high pitched and annoyingly loud lol.

i know, SEARCH, i have and i always do, and i know most of this group is biased with RB and i could buy RB just want to know what other good sounding options are there. i hear lots of good things from Borla and magnaflow, but what is the exact product you guys are using?

sound clips/videos are greatly appreciated

I couldn't find pics, but I just installed a RB header and presilencer. The inside of the silencer, if I remember correctly, is like a straight pipe with a muffler around it, and holes drilled into the pipe. I'm not sure if it makes any sense with that description, but that's what I remember.

I can't imagine how loud your car is. I put on the header with the presilencer to a crappy muffler, and it's stil much louder than I like. I ordered the RB muffler as soon as I could afford it, and I'm putting it on this weekend

thanks i do know what you're talking about, the ones at the shop seem to be straight through also, but have little rivets raised all along the inside instead of holes drilled in ....and yes right now it's pretty loud, mom says she can hear me about 1/2 a mile away from home (that's how far the turn for the road i live in is from my house) .... and its even louder at night lol.

i've also had a lot more civics tried to race me lately....

You could just grab an old muffler from the junkyard with the same diameter piping as your system. Gut it and wrap the inner pipe with steel wool you can get from Walmart. Weld it back up and stick it in the middle. dj55b made his own after his Borla blew up and it sounds way better. Not as raspy and a deeper, quieter tone at idle.
