Should this RX-7 Manual be in My Library?

is this worth $25? Will it help with a build?

Or, would the Chilton be better?

I don't think the Chilton one will be much help. The ones that cover a big year spread like that will be too broad.
I started with the Haynes book, it's not bad. From other Clymer books I've seen they seem on par with Haynes with helpful OEM drawings and photos.

Factory manuals can be downloaded at foxed.ca, those will have the most detail.

Haynes manuals are F-A-R more descriptive than the factory manual, for newbie users. Great to have the factory manual nearby (and you should be able to find them on ebay for about $25. Don't pay more, be patient.

BEST resource? Build VIDEOS. Mazdatrix has a great one for $30 and is best $$ you will spend on the build. Secrets, tips, visualizations you will NEVER get out of just a read. Built my 12A with this. Priceless...

Both are good. FSM download is good. Why not get all 3 ? You are already saving 99% by being a diy'er. And you know the job was done right, and not fast.

Pro mechanics are allotted only so much time to do e.g. master brake cylinder replacement. They have to take short cuts and can't waste time wiping up brake fluid, or putting rags under the brake cylinder to protect the paint. It is just the way the system is set up. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

They're worth $25 as a set and would all make a great addition to a collection of RX-7 literature. I prefer the FSM over any other repair manual and I have one for every year 1st Gen. I also have the Haynes and Chilton manuals as well. It can't hurt to have extra literature!

I have the green FSM, the Haynes version of the same and the Chiltons for 79-81. Believe it or not that Chiltons manual has pictures and descriptions of things that are not in the other 2. For instance, how to remove the heater blower motor, its in the Chilton manual but not the others. So don't dis the Chilton too hard. The Clymer books are on par with Haynes I think.

Year-specific FSM works for me. My 79-85 Haynes is near useless
