What? If you think that fat-cheeked disgusting piggy they call a Z now is a retro version of one of the most beautiful and iconic cars ever built, I have some Ocean-front property in Missouri...
I can say ALL KINDS of mean things about the 350Z (less so on the 370, it's a little better looking) but calling it a lazy retro rehash is definitely not one of them. It at least is it's own car/design.
Oh heaven's no. I was talking about retro car design. If you want me to get into the problems with new cars style... that's another rant entirely (sparknotes: I hate BMW)
And yes, you got me, the new focus RS is sweet.

im 100% with danish when i saw the big 3 "recreations" of their past glorys i puked in my mouth and we know in order to sell big numbers they would build this car with all the new creature comforts and defeat the purpose of building a car designed for drivers just end up with another city slickers grocery cart but with a rotang

But the Z: It's a fresh design, but still has some throwback cues to previous Z cars. That's what I'd like to see from the new 7. Just because the mustang has the "hockey stick" styling in the side and three-lens taillights doesn't make it a lazy design.

The Datsun/Nissan designers captured a few iconic lines from the earlier generation in each, but NONE of them were intended to be a reboot of the 240/260. any more than the FC has any claim to being a reboot of a 1st-gen.
Name, heart, and spirit continued; body and chassis designs new from pretty much the ground up, each time.
Beyond that, still your blasphemous heathen tongue about my beautiful, gorgeous, shapely, magnificent 350Z.

At least they were trying something new with it. That puts them ahead of our domestic brethren in my book.
So anyway, you all know my thoughts on new cars, and it's for that reason that if you want a new version of an old sports car I say you get a lotus. ~2000lbs and a commonly available toyota 4 cylinder? Light, fast, and simple? YES PLEASE.
