RX7 Meet's Cards

RX7 Meet's Cards
Ok, not sure if it is a southern thing or not, but our meet, the "I77-I40 Crossroads" and the "OGTA" (Old Guys with Twelve A's) have business cards, so to speak. We find a RX7 and we gingerly leave a card under the windshield wiper in hopes to recruit new members.

OGTA Card:
I was wondering if anyone else did something like this to... er for lack of better words, promote their meets? If you guys did, I wouldn't mind grabbing a card from a meet. Doesn't matter if it is from New Mexico or Italy...

Terrified.
Exactly. I always notice around spring time that rotaries come out of the wood work around me, and it is almost always older guys in first gens or young kids in FC's. I'd definitely leave cards on the old guy's cars if I had a meet to go to.

They are homemade Dave, I print out a page of them on card stock and cut them out with a paper cutter. I've got a template someplace that you could edit for a local club if you want that. It would be really cool if you could print them on the backside of your patrolman's card. If you want some of the Georgia OG@TA cards pm me your address or, if you want to do it yourself, download and print this file:

The @ sign is supposed to look like a rotor, pretty cool, huh?
Folks out of town are welcome to join the virtual OG@TA club by reading and posting on the OG@TA thread in the SE section. Some folks, like Stu and Dave, from NC and Kent (GSLSE addict) and his wife from Virginia even make the drive down for a meeting once in a while.
Or you could start an Ohio OG@TA, you might be surprised to find a bunch of rotorheads, old and young, showing up for meets. We started with three old guys, now there's about 20 or more who show up, about half old driving FB's, the other half young driving FC's (Stu is weird, he's young and drives an FB).

I like the idea of starting a few regional OGTA franchises. Just so y'all know, by the way, the point system we use for meets is reflective of the amount of knowledge/wrenching necessary to keep a car on the road. Pre-RX-7 rotaries are worth 2 points, SAs are worth 1.5, FBs are worth 1, FCs are .5, and FDs are worth .3. What's the Atlanta OGTA Chapter record, Ray?

Not counting joint OSJC/OG@TA meetings and ZoomFest, currently for pure OG@TA meetings its 10.5 12A equivalents, set last December 8 (2 SAs, 6 FBs and 3 FCs).
The meet out at Crit's lake house was a close second with 10 12A equivalents (2 SAs, 6 FBs, 2 FCs).
More typical turnouts run 6-10 12A equivalents, here's the December 2nd one from last week, which drew 9.5 12A equivalents (2 SAs, 4 FBs, 1 SE (= 1 FB), 3 FCs)

Come on out. You can set the new record for the longest drive to an OGTA meet.
Ray: Might be missing whatever Spring meets you are going to have. Might be going to Germany and possibly Paris for a few months after the start of the New Year. I'll keep an eye open for 1st gens..maybe I can leave them an OGTA card! I doubt I'll see any, though. Lived in France for a year and didn't see a single 1st gen or 2nd gen. The only 7 I saw was a black FD cruising through Paris.
Saw way more Itallian exotics than 7s.
