"rotor shaped muffler" from the Mazda Furai

This must be a new item from RB. Has anyone used one of these yet? How loud is it with just a header and a presilencer?

i'm liking it, might just buy one
my only change to the exhaust is the RB test pipe. maybe it would be too loud?

Yeah, I ran across that a few days back. Looks interesting....

I also found a rotor shaped dining room table. No ****. Looked awesome and the wife actually loved it. Salesman gave us a rediculous price though and wouldn't budge on it. Had to walk away, but I'm going to keep an eye out for another one...

Its a little *** backwards imo.. the tip should be rotor shaped like the center piece on the back of the RX8.

Agreed. Should be a circular exhaust with the tip being a rotor shape. That on the other hand would be bad ***.

I went with the universal muffler instead. It's bigger (more muffling) and costs less. Maybe my next project will get one of these rotor shaped mufflers.

The tip itself should have been rotor shaped.

It'sa development of a custom muffler they did for one of their full-up racing developments - - the prototype sits in their showroom, about 3 blocks from my office.

Staight-thru hole you could fling a medium-sized cat through.

It's basically a small muffler, mostly ideal for a turbo in 3". I'd say for NA use, you really will need at least one other muffler inline ahead of it and a presilencer ahead of that. Definitely 2.5".

I'll try to talk PercentSevenC into getting one of these in the 3" version for his upcoming turbo project. He wants to use a Borla at the rear with a turbo, but the Borla could actually fit up in the cat location pretty well since it is an oval shape and other people have used them there as a presilencer with good results. This should allow for the cool triangle shaped muffler to be used at the rear and not be too loud.
