Rear disc brakes on a '79?
I was looking around in the rear of the rex the other day and noticed it had rear disc brakes and not drums. I didn't think about it until I read that 79's didn't have rear disc brakes. So what does this mean? I know that the engine and trans have been swapped out for an '83, so could this mean that the rear end in my rex could be an 83, and if so, would it have a LSD? I will grap pics later today when it stops raining.

three things could have happened.
1. someone swapped in the 83 rear too, a disc rear should have LSD, jack up one tire and try to turn it
2. someone made the caliper bracket to put the discs on the original rear, ive seen these before, and respeed makes them now
3. you have the mazda factory race stuff.
#1 is the most likely
