NICE
I do wonder what makes some people not drive them at all. At the time, Mazda was selling bajillions of them, so I don't think people would've treated them like Ferraris, unless this is one car out of a person's collection of 50 that just didn't get driven.

i saw that car on ebay a few days ago. the auction was removed when i was in the middle of looking at it. thats a beautiful car and i wish i could afford it. for now i'll have to stick with my 55K 84 GSL.
Dang, that is exactly my car.... only about 100,000 miles less. Wish my interior looked that good.. my engine compartment looks about that original, just not that clean.

Oh yeah, my carpet is stained... and I have a small tear in my drivers seat back..... and my factory radio and steering wheel are missing... that's about it....
Someone needs to buy this car- the one on ebay, not mine!!!

That's a nice one Dave, I do like the GSLs and that silver color! In fact my next one is a near exact match for yours, a silver 85 GSL but it has a mint red leather interior, a bit more mileage (100,000) and a little more wear and tear. Still it's going to be a nice one:

And I got it for a steal, only $1200.

It's going to be a nice one, it must have been a garage queen in an earlier life. I haven't really started to fix it all up but it will look like yours when I'm done, probably a bit later this summer.
The best thing about the car is it has the strongest 12A I've owned yet, an engine that can sit for a month then start up with no trouble and NO SMOKE, the first one of those I've owned. Also the RB header and custom exhaust is a nice touch.
You gotta love those low mileage 1st gens.

Some nice cars pictured in this thread! Gotta love silver FB's, although i'm still not a huge fan of the red interior, they are very clean nonetheless!
I'm not sure I could handle owning the the car in the original post, I'd be too tempted to start modifying it!

I agree, you don't want a car like the first one posted, it cost's too much and would be too precious to enjoy once you had it. What you want to do is find a sleeper in good shape with good potential but needing a little work for under $2,000.
Then restore it so it looks like the car in the first post or like Dave's silver beauty.
My silver 85 GSL needs very little, it came with a dented front fender but I pounded that out a few months ago:

It needs it's under the nose sheet metal and trim put back together and it's not idling as smooth as I'd like. But that will be fixed with some spare parts, a 2GDFI installation and a little carb work (Zach said it was recently rebuilt so maybe it just needs a little tweaking). Other than that it's all cosmetics, including a new set of sneakers for the 110 mile daily commute.
I can't wait but I need the White One to show some signs of age before I move on to the Silver One.
Here's the White One attending a few of the recent OG@TA meetings:

Ray, you pounded that dent out after your meet, right? you need not wait until your dover white FB starts showing signs of aging. just rotate 7's. drive the white FB one week and then the silver one the next. thats what i try and do in the summer. keeps the cars happy by being used and not letting the car sit and it makes me happy to be able to enjoy my passion.

But seriously this thing is bad *** and is probally worth the 11,500 they are asking for it.
