lookin pretty damn sweet. You're gonna love the look of the car sans side moulding. If you want to see what one looks like, I just posted up a boat load of pictures in the 1st gen pictures thread of my silver FB sans side moulding.

I caused that dent (see car in avatar)
It happend when a few days after my gsl rear end swap. VB sent me two left side e brake cables, I had no idea. Put them on, drove it, parked the car on a hill, set the e brake and got out. The combination of faulty cables and myself not leaving it in gear caused teh car to roll down a hill into a 2 day old ford truck. Brakelights were replaced and I never got to fixing that dent. Very ackward position to get at.

looks like it will be very clean after you paint and everything. what color ?

So we started getting the car into primer. Good news is that that back is all in primer. We still have a little more details to work on but all in all its starting to look close to done. Here's the pics!

I love the conversion, very nicely done. I could do without the center piece being welded over, but that's my opinion... too much flat space for my liking.

Also, the way you reinforced the bumper is very interesting, might I ask why you didn't go with a triangular set-up? I would think that welding in triangle supports would stand up to a collision my better than simple up and downs?

All in all, great car man! The write up is very well done, I've been looking for how that bumper had been done and now I know! Thank you very much!

Hate to burst your bubble, but if you get rear ended and hurt you won't have a leg to stand on once the other insurance company inspects this modification.

Don't take it the wrong way (statement above), it is cool especially if you match it with some sort of treatment on the front end as well.

After seeing the car for a few days, the plan is to do something in the front. Something that will match the back, but will have to see how it looks. Thanks for the feedback. Ill be posting more as it comes up

We also figured that the blank spot in between the brake lights doesnt look right so we are ordering a inset license plate box to mount it in there. Here is the color i am wanting. Its my old 7 that is parked on the side of the house. Its such a damn clean car and am saving the big bucks for that car.

So ive been on the road the past month working but am coming home next week. The plan is to have it all done by september. My friend got laid off at the body shop he worked at and he is looking for side work so he is going to paint, cut, buff, and clear my car for less than $900.

Also i decided to put the original center section between the tail lights back in. Here are some pictures of it driving around
