So we got down to the shop tonight and got it all welded up. Its gonna look sick!

He started with welding the reinforcement (1/4" square tubing) and then pieced the panels on.

Hopefully tomorrow we will be able to finish the rear end with the fiberglass filler and making it all smooth. Im really excited to see how it all is gonna look and this is one huge step for this car.

I also realized I'll have to move the exhaust back about 2-3 inches to make it flush, but thats ok with me.

Major props to my friend Brian. He is really impressing me with all of this.

looking good ... I've always been a fan of that black car ... but if you ever get rear ended, then you're done for it.

yeah i thought about that already and if i ever did get hit hard enough, even with the bumper it would still be an issue. But I'll be switching to full coverage on my insurance after i get it painted

Cool, yea I figured if your roomate is that good at this stuff he would be making sure to coat everything really well. I've done so much rust repair and restoration on these cars over the last 7 years I'm always on the lookout for possibly rust haha

So we went down to the shop again tonight and worked on the roll pan. We also started working on filling in the side markers, antenna, and weld up the emblem holes. Its starting to look good and tomorrow we are going to work on it more.

Here's the pictures of today's work.

So all the major metal work is done....I think... All the patch panels and emblem holes are filled. I started looking at the front end and starting wondering what I could do with that. We might fab up a front air dam/spoiler....we'll see...

So here's the pictures of today and what it should look like soon!

It's looking really good so far. The only problem I see with the roll pan is with the flat panels all welded in, it makes it look too flat instead of curving with the rear. Everything looks pretty good though and looks like top notch work

So we started the fiberglass. The rear has its rough shape and body filler will take care of the rest. Its really starting to look good. Just a few more weeks of bodywork and we'll be ready for paint
