And here is a quick question for anyone who knows the answer. Has anyone ever seen a GX model 1st gen. The parts car we just picked up has GX badges on the B-pillars. It looks just like a GSL. It has rear discs and lsd, and all the power options on the interior.

I've seen and owned a lot of 1st gens, and never seen a gx. It might be that you're using the wrong car of the two for parts.

Paint is ****, but we are getting it painted.
The blueish one is acctually much cleaner than the white one.

Sounds like the project I have lined up when the weather decides to stay nicer.

60* this weekend, 30* and snowing right now in NY.

After pulling a motor out of a Cherokee, this seems like its going to be nothing, haha.

Took the engine out of the donor car last night. All was well until I figured out that the wire harness`s where actually different on both motors. I switched the harness over from the old engine everything should work out. The harness on the 84GS came out of the firewall on the passenger side, and the harness from the 83GX came out of the driver side. The main plugs where acctualy different as well. Engine should be going in this weekend.

The original color was burnt orange. Really, the paint was burnt, the car was from Texas.

The engine out of the donor car is finally in the 84. Took a while since I only had the front hook on the motor and it was a little hard to line up with the trans. All I have left to do is top up the fluids, and play with the idle adjustments on the carb, she revs a little high at the moment.

I'm betting the GX badge is some rice someone applied to the white one. I've never heard of a GX model in any country.
