Nice Corvette and all, but I would like to know more about those pants!

My first car was also a '93 For Taurus in grey. Picked it up for $2800 back in '99 when I was an Airman Basic. I changed the water pump on it like three times before I gave up and traded it in.

No use posting a picture.

[QUOTE=DivinDriver;10058577]Took me a while to dig this one up; scan of a polaroid. My very first car, 1970 Ford LTD Brougham. 121" wheelbase, 390 cubic inches, four barrels, and 78-series tires.

You could get 6 of your closest friends in there with you (three more in the trunk, for drive-in movies) and still haul *** like no tomorrow. In straight lines, anyway. Which is the only kind of road they have in Nebraska.

It had vacuum-operated doors that covered the headlights. Way cool, Maynard.

a buddy of mine has a 74 mercury (460 with a C6) that has the vacuum operated lights. has two little black vacuum canisters in the engine bay. of course here in ohio the salt gets to them and the rust creates pin holes and the light covers only stay in the up position. what year would you say that pic was taken Glen?

That's out front of my Dad's old house in Omaha, and that's me on the hood, of course, the day the keys were turned over to me. Looks like summer time and very late evening, from the foliage and the light angle (Sun's way north, and almost set).

Most likely, mid-late summer 1979. I would've been either 16 or 17, depending on the exact month.

Speaking of the Midwest and road salt, you can see the less-than-perfect results of my first efforts with Bondo and touch-up paint along the rear fenders. Car had a serious case of fender cancer when I first took over maintenance.

Glad you asked...no really.

Those pants were tailor made in Korea, the material was printed from the crowd faces of Woodstock...so what looks like cammo is actually thousands of long hair hippy freaks.

BTW the jacket was made from a wool army blanket. Those blankets have a "US" imprint in the middle which became the pocket over the heart.

Underneath is a Kent State T-shirt...location is the local Magnolia Dragstrip/airport near Canton, Ohio.

Actually pretty awesome. It would be even more awesome if you still had them. Can you please draw a bikini on my mom though. She is the topless blond about 214 people back.

I'm sensing a powerful mixing of metaphors, between the garb, and the Vette. That much dichotomy in one place can lead to spacetime warpage.

1988 Chevy Celebrity. Not mine, I never got any pics of the one I had. Got it for a free from my mothers friend, rusted to hell. It had sat in the grass for a couple years. Took it to the base car club and had some help from the body guy to weld new metal on and respray it a color of brown thats better suited to tractor pull vehicles. It had a blue interior, and would continue rolling in reverse after releasing the gas. Made for easy burnouts. Took it off roading a couple times in a sandpit they were building a new subdivision in. Didn't have it long. Sold it to a guy for way less than I spent on it so he could use the engine and used the proceeds to buy a piece of **** 88 civic hatchback.
