Turbo? The 84 and 85 jdm RX-7s had a 12AT version 2 as an engine option. While exact data is unavailable as the engine also went into the Cosmo and Luce, the best estimate is around 900 went into various GT-X, SE Ltd, and the LE RX-7 models.

Convertible? Mazda Australia had six built by a specialist subcontractor, and approved as a special series of a maximum twenty per year under the Australian Design Regulations after structural engineering certification. The cost new was 50% higher than the coupe!

In the USA, Pacific Avator converted 126 used Gen 1s between 83 and 87. These varied according to customer requirement and were never stock.

That is a beautiful SE ... looking forward to watching the MAZDASPORT progress.

Are you doing the mods and they are documenting or are they doing them at your direction ... how is that working???

Congrats on the ride.

Thanks. I'm doing the work myself and writing the articles as well as doing the photography. My editor just gives me a dealine. I have been doing sort of thing for several years. I also write for SubieSport once in a while, have been published in Mazda's Internal magazine FUEL and as far abroad as New Zealand Performance Review. Fun work, but it doesn't pay very well.

Why did you sell it? I see that you got a second gen in your avatar. Is that why? That was beautiful.
