Pilot bearing puller at Harbor Freight

Just an FYI for everyone. Harbor Freight has their pilot bearing puller on sale.

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...temnumber=4876

$8.99

You have to grind the "feet" down a little to make them fit in to the pilot bearing, but once you do that it works great. I have used it multiple times, and it only takes a few seconds to pull the bearing.

For less than ten bucks, it's hard to beat.

i bought a bearing puller from there and it came with three different sized heads. it was ok for some some stuff but never worked wuite right on the pilot bearing. my oem mazda tool is perfect for the job and usually requires only two or three swipes. as a note, your link is not working properly for me.

You have to get the pilot bearing tool. And it works perfectly after you grind the feet down.
just go to Harborfreight.com and search for ITEM 4876-3VGA

And for the price of the mazda tool you can buy twelve of these.

Do you have before and after pics of the grind?

I can take some pics for you if you like, but it's real easy. I just used the new pilot bearing as my measurement. I would grind a little, and then check to see if it would fit, and then grind a little more. I kept doing that until the three "feet" fit through the bearing.

I bought one at the 'Zone a few years ago for like 20 bucks. Did the same thing, just ground down the feet a bit and it worked like a charm.
