Pics of my 79 with 17s

I finished my gslse brake and rearend swap a few weeks ago, and never really posted any pictures. I put my 17inch wheels on it that I had from my old mx-3. What do you think?

Surprisingly, they look good. I was expecting 17's to make the car look a little toy like but it's not bad. Get a spacer for the rear though. They look like they are sitting too far inside the fender. I'm not saying to go flush but push them out some more.

The wheels are 17x7inch, with 205/40r17 tires on them. The offset is +42, a little high for my taste, but still fits nicely. The last picture is a little deceiving, I think it makes the rear wheel look like it's sitting further in then it actually is. Probably because you can see my wife's mazda 3 front fender in the background.

Offset is too high and profile is too low, that is a great looking car though!! Soooo clean!

Still by looking at the other pics, it needs a minimum of 1" rear spacer.
I'd say the front needs a 1/2" too.

Either way - nice car, and nice wheels.

^I agree, push em out just a little bit. Awesome looking though, I like how they match. Nice job!

Thanks for the compliments guys. My next set of wheels will have a lower offset for sure. I had these laying around from an old car, so I used them after I was done with my gslse rear end and brake swap. I don't like using spacers, so these will work for now. Once I have some free cash, I'll probably get new wheels.

Here are a few newer pictures:

That's good! I've always liked that car. It's a lot lower than mine though, and I wish my engine bay was that shiny.

My engine bay should look a lot better though when I have my s5 t2 sitting in it.
