Don't trust the stock oil pressure gauge. Always hook up an aftermarket one to verify it before you start tearing into things. Mine reads 0 lbs at idle, but really it is fine and the gauge is just messed up.

We are going to keep running it and see if the smoke goes away. A fresh motor is needed for autocross anyway. I don't want to sink a bunch of money in to a car with 226k on the motor just to have it blow in the first event. This motor will stay in the car for at least a year though as we don't plan on turning it in to a race car for a while. The gauge works, well it moves. I guess that doesn't mean it is accurate though. Holds around 15 at idle and 40-50 while the motor revs.

Ya, mine moves too. Its just off by a good margin. Of course, at one time it was sitting maxed out at idle. They are just a rather old gauge that can break easily.
