I REALLY hate deer...

Heading out to the barn tonight to help a friend with his car, and there are a group of deer on the road. For once, I was actually going the speed limit down this old country road so I had some time to slow down...One deer in particular decided it would be a good idea to come from the opposite lane back into my lane to get out of the road. I braked, down-shifted, honked my horn...but didn't switch lanes.

The bumper hit the deer's legs and then its body slammed into the headlight, which took most of the damage.

Thankfully I only REALLY need to replace the headlight assembly and headlight cover. The front valance probably should be replaced too though. It just sucks getting the TII swap finished, and having something like this happen.

Ouch that sucks man Fortunatly it isn't toooo bad though, could have been a lot worse. Same thing happened to me back in the summer although it was on the passenger side.
Good luck with the repairs!

Yeah, we've got a butt load of deer in my area. My drive to work is 25 miles of country roads, nothing but woods and cornfields. Driving at night is a real adventure.

I hit a deer in my FB, luckily I was going about 1 MPH. I am glad I've perfected threshold braking on the car, or else it would've been fucked. I was going down Jamison Creek Rd and see these, start slowing down and then they run right in front of me, and I just tap the deer and knock it over. Sorry to hear that man. The blacktail in my area are incredibly stupid, as well.

Guess I'll be scouring the parts cars in the classified section. haha. In retrospect, I'm glad it wasn't any worse than it actually was. For me or the car. (y)

As for the mirrors, I installed them myself, and strangely enough I bought them on eBay. They match the original fender mirrors from Japan pretty well.

It didn't make out. I'm sure someone has taken it home by now (a lot of country boys in the area that would love some venison) , I just moved it from the road.

Well, at least you didn't have to watch it bound away off the road as it flipped you the bird. If it hurt your car, then it deserved to die! You should've carved some steaks off it right there on the road. lol.

"Yeah, a deer hit my car and messed it up a bit. But I felt a lot better once I held it's still-beating heart in my hands".

not a terrible amount of damage luckily. i have a spare headlight bucket if you need one. best to remove the bent bucket and ensure nothing underneath is tweaked. i worry about the mounting points are they are just nuts welded into the core support and that core support is awful thin.

I have a friend up north that put them on his motorcycle years ago, I think he hit 2 (separate occasions) after he installed them. He called them deer attracters.

rx71king, in NY, if you hit a deer and kill it, you call the police to report it, and I think they come to check it out, then you can keep it.
