old school collection
Now that I have my 1980 SA22 back, I can finally take a picture of her with my 1984 Project Cheap Autocrosser!!!!
I also added a picture of my "old school" tow vehicle I use to tow the autocross car to all the races!!!

my old school 1991 Suburban...last of the ole dinosours.... I have 13 autocross races scheduled for the rest of 2009.... The 'burb will be busy!!

The ones on the Black one are rare...old school Carrol Shelby wheels....been unavailable as long as the 1st gens have been!!

LOL, yes they must be because I personally have never heard of them, But I really like the way they look and stand ones on grey, sure appreciate you for responding keep up the good work they both look awsome.

lol... Its kinda tough in my case going around cones knowing the with of your car but forgetting about the extra 4" sticking pass the width of fenders, what offsett did you get your wheels with or are they stock offset? Thanks.

I dont really know the offset...they came with the car...they fit....dats all I know.... Someday I will measure them. I will be doing a tire change in about a month, I will check them then...

that works for me, am changing the wheels that I have for auto crossing to 13-15 but before I do want to know width before they start sticking past fender and offsetting should I be looking at, within a few months though, Thanks. Oh, does anyone knows where could I start searching for better wheels on auto-x I like the diamonds on here but am trying not to limit my options either, Thanks.

I like the look of the panasports; if I were ever to change out my beloved waffles, that's probably where I'd go, unless Cragar miraculously decided to resurrect the original classic SS rims in an SA-appropriate size, in which case I'd have to get fitted for a 5-hole pattern.

my dad use to have a suburban lik that when i was growing up. Man yours is CLEAN!!! i love it... i would so rock that chevy....I bet you have no problems with it huh (mechanical wise)

I bought the Suburban for $1700 from her estate sale with only 75,000 original highway miles.
It has worked out to be a great tow vehicle....before I was towing with my 2007 Jeep Wrangler 2 door.. way too short of a wheelbase to be towing with...

Your better off sticking with a 13 inch wheel for autocrossing. They will allow you to maintain a low center of gravity, tires are available from a number of manufacturers and are cheaper for smaller wheels. They also keep the gearing close to stock or shorter depending on the tire sidewall height. This helps acceleration. Also reduces unsprung weight, which lets the suspension respond faster to changes.
